Best way to stop email spam?

One of my email addresses that I use for business related things must of gotten out and not get 10+ emails a day that get past the spam filters in spam assassin.

I'm annoyed because these bottom feeding pieces of shit blast my email all hours of the night and my iPhone keeps going off while I'm sleeping.

Anyway, what's a good solution? I'd like to have one of those setups where it asks you to verify your email if you domain or email addy is not on my safe list

I use Gmail for all pop3. I rarely see any spam. Maybe I'll get one a week.

gmail diverts pretty much all my spam...

Google Bayesian spam filter + your email client. Bayesian filters work really well because they learn what YOUR business related email looks like. For example, ours has learned that any email mentioning "Strongbox" or "Clonebox" is legit, whereas any mentioning pills is spam.

To do this trick, Bayesian filters do need some training. At first you'll put every spam in the spam folder, or press the "spam" button. If you're careful about what you mark as spam, the system quickly learns and eliminates over 90% of the spam by itself. (Over 90% of what already made it through spamassassin, that is.)

If you have whm/cpanel on your server, then you can activate boxtrapper feature which wont receive mail unless other party reply with yes to sent verification mail.

I have rice, my goat is fine and I just applied a fresh coat of mud to my hut. Life is good. The only thing bugging me now is the spam.

GMAIL spam filter is good, you MARK them few spams and they will remove anything similar in future

I find gmails filter is a bit aggressive and because spam gets deleted after 30 days some important things can be lost if you don't skim through them occasionally.

10+ that get through the filters between when I go to bed and get up. Each day I get probably 50-100 easy but most are filtered out.

Just looking for a way to stop my phone from blowing up while I'm sleeping that doesn't have to do with me turning it off

Google apps for domains, it is Gmail on your own domain.
