Tumblr Questions?

Anyone use Tumblr? I just started a blog on there that I'm hoping to link posts to my own blogs. I noticed a few blogs on tumblr that have juicy ads on them and they get alot of traffic. How are they able to place juicy ads on their tumblr blogs is that allowed?
also , is their anyway to place a stats counter on them?

Tumblr is my absolute favorite free adult blog host right now... been using them a long time, none shut down.

One of our blogs there is heading towards 2 and a 1/2 million page views and all stuffed with adverts :)

You can use a free theme and then edit the HTML to your desire. I run a bunch there using plugrush, and as someone stated above, not one has been shut down to date (knock on wood).

Tumblr is great. I encourage all of my affiliates to use it. To me, it is the perfect blend of social and porn. Each tumblr theme (the paid ones, at least) are highly customizable. It is possible to run any ads you want. They are fully aware that tumblr is primarily run by pornography.

On a side note; has anyone ever read their TOS? It's the most hilarious I've read in a while. They even plug xhamster WITH a direct hardlink! :1orglaugh

the fuckers can close your blog anytime with no reason.. so take care..

they are as sensitive as blogspot..

I recommend thumblogger if you are looking for a free host. Or venusblogger of course, just trying to be as objective as possible.

Really? Compared to blogspot?

You'd really have to violate the terms, something vicious to get your blog closed. As stated previously, they know where their traffic comes from and unless you're doing something ridiculously shady (like posting CP or overly racist shit), you're fine.

How come more sites don't have ads on them if they get so much traffic and are allowed?

Most of the blogs I see just have pics not even any text.:upsidedow

Thats because most of them are run by fans/surfers who don't care about selling anything.

Most nsfw tumblrs are not adult webmasters and they just post nsfw stuff for fun but also some adult webmasters place no ads at all on their tumblr blogs at first in order to increase followers and traffic. When your tumblr has a couple thousand followers and your post start getting reblogged hundreds of time, you start adding ads.

mromro 04-24-2012 01:31 PM

Just added a stats counter to my first tumblr blog.
Went to the theme I use and edit html. Placed code just above</body>

This opens up alot of possibilities!

Nope, that's not true.

Me and many people I know had their blogs closed and we were not doing anything like that or anything to get it closed at all.

SO EVERYONE take care with tumblr, unless you want to waste your time, with a 2 years blog with 500 hours invested in it, get it closed overnight.

I repeat, USE THUMBLOGGER instead of TUMBLR...

Period.

Bingo! We have a winner.

Re-blogging is priceless. :thumbsup

I'm seriously curious now. Why did your blog get closed on a virtually rules-free host? :helpme

esham 04-24-2012 03:29 PM

I had a blog linking just to nubiles. Then got a email saying my account has been closed acording to there tos they dont allow minors. I emailed them back linking to 2257 and they just ignore my emails. I would stick to thumblogger if your looking long term.

although there was no reason when they closed it, I emailed them to ask and they said that I probably had too much affliate advertising and not much content.

The blog had 5 posts, with each post with a picture linking to the fetish paysite.

No wonders that 99% of blogs on tumblr are not webmasters, but people that do it just as a hobby... Which means they have no paysite or ccbill links at all.

Same thing happened to me but I was linking to payserve teen sites (They told me the girls look too young). Don't make teen niche blogs to be safe. Everything else, no problem for now.

that's why....you basically had 5 ads on your blog...it doesn't matter that you posted "pictures". They considered them as ads...
