Maybe this remake was supposed to be a comedy and I just didnt' get it. They were playing "Release Me" while the chick was being raped LOL :1orglaugh

The original Straw Dog was great...but it works because of the rape scene. That's what everything builds up to. It's brutal, raw, and unexpected.

You can't remake a movie that was so largely dependent on one particular scene.

They should start re-making bad movies. I'm sure Battlefield Earth deserves another shot.

It's a pretty ball-less, safe move to just copy something previously successful, instead of taking a famously bad movie and making a good version of it. They would have my 10 bucks, because that's some shit I'll go see.

I wonder if in the new version, the actress(whoever it is) made sure she seemed like she enjoyed it. That was what stuck out to me in the original.

I just watched the remake of I Spit On Your Grave. was pretty good.

I think shitting on a piece of film and presenting it as "my latest movie" will be better than the original. I know, it's great and everything, and is a cult classic, but its also what they call a shitty movie.

It was Kate Bosworth. She wouldn't even show her tits. Don't know what they were thinking casting her. On top of that she's supposed to be this Hollywood independent type. The whole concept of the characters made no sense whatsoever. The asshole that green-lighted the project was probably smoking crack and never even heard of the original. Most of those fucking new film school grades don't have any knowledge of film history whatsoever, or even understand what drove the original films

I know. Wasn't the original really about their failing marriage, or something like that? It's been many years since I've seen it.

Well, it was directed by Sam Peckinpah so that's a lot to live up to. The feminists hated it cause she was dicking around with her old boyfriend and then got one up the pooper from some other guy. Actually they hated it cause she was getting raped but then really wasn't until the other guy came along in the original

This film you don't know what the fuck she was doing. She gets raped while they are playing "RELEASE ME" :1orglaugh and then she wants to go to a ball game where she knows the whole town is going to be :1orglaugh Al the feminists must have died cause I haven't heard one squawk about this film this time

I guarantee that if the remade Goodfellas they would fuck it up badly. Why screw up a good thing?

Could they really find someone that would do such a great job as Joe Pesci (Tommy) or Robert Deniro (James Conway)? etc.. I'll just stick to watching the original so no need for a remake.
