With only a few sample torrents from each site, it appears as though someone is using torrents to market a review site. But, as I said in the beginning, anyone could post these torrents. It could be just an avid fan.

Anyway, it raises a question that I have had for a while.


Has anyone ever tried marketing their site using torrents and had success?

Does anyone of those torrents only have one seeder? Download it and see what IP you get data from (that info is available in utorrent for example under the "clients"-tab).

I've tried - not worth the effort for me.

Is it that surprising that marketing companies are trying to think outside of the box and make a few dollars? What do you expect them to do? Sit back and take it up the ass?

What do the torrents contain? Full videos? Samples?

If full videos? They are stealing. With small sample clips, they are only using another medium to send the end user to an entrance link.

But all these torrents are full HD videos, and full High Quality Picture sets

It is not ok for any affiliate to give out full content from their sponsors, unless the sponsor agrees. In this case I don't think anyone was asked.

and what is so super about it? people are using usenet with exactly the same scheme, just on torrents and not on newsgroups. you make files looking like warez, but all is legal, i believe some traffic may come, and i believe that tbp is very happy for you to publishing their promos here :upsidedow

My main question is if anyone has had any major success with these new marketing ideas.
