After all these years of hearing Epoch has better throughput than CCBILL I decided finally to do my own test on my solo girl paysite Jewel - had a little script made to send one surfer to CCBILL the next to Epoch for an entire month, mid April to mid May ......... and the result, a dead heat pretty much, 3 more sales on CCBILL.

so for myself, that myth is put to rest.

na epoch does way more. When ccbill is hot they are hot but when they are cold, it's like the hands of an old russian lady

i think a month long test is enough - for me anyway, not going to worry anymore that i could do 10% more sales if i went to Epoch primary.

I also did some testing, they pretty much came out at a dead heat, epoch was up about 2%, not enough to switch affiliate systems and so on. That doesn't change the fact that the scrubs are too high though, my card has only ever been declined once online in 10 years (I buy online weekly) and it was by ccbill, both my credit and debit cards.

I would have said initially that your test should be 3 months long so you could look at rebills too.

How did your card end up on a scrub list?

Now the big test... try your own merchant account. Ya know... the one that gives you the freedom to make your join page anyway you like... then post those results. Did you try an AB test on ccbill and verotel?

Numbers differ when the niche is more specific and the sources are more wide spread.

Epoch offer customers a miuch wider choice of cards or methods to pay with and that is important. Not everybody has a visa or mastercard.

ccbill WERE number one but they seem to have just sat back last few years whereas Epoch seem to have only been getting stronger.

CCBill offers a lot more credit card options than what you see on the join forms they supply. Don't know why they don't show them all. I requested a form that shows all and they made it up for me. Sometimes they are just plain lazy I guess. If you don't show all options, people have no idea they can use another type of card.

CCbill never fucked over webmasters like Epoch did. So I would never trust my money with them.

I use CCBill and cascade to Epoch. CCbill has everything set up to do that and they will help you get the traffic flow links set up.

I asked them to make a new form and add all the credit cards they accept so the surfer could see what he could use. I don't know why they don't do that with their join forms. Epoch does it. It's a no-brainer. CC Bill could really stand to re-design their forms. How hard would that be?

Yep.

Takes a bit of time but worth the effort.

There is no competition, private merchant through Netbilling is many times better, pays you out in a couple days, and rebills at least 30% better. (for me)
