I like being about to modify, upgrade and repair my own computers and laptops stuff.

The new MacBook Pro with Retina Display is stunning. 0.71″ thick, super-fast processor, and 95 watt hours of battery life. It crams 5.1 million pixels?that?s one pixel for every resident of Singapore?into a 15.4″ screen.

But even though it packs lots of gee-whiz bells and whistles, we were thoroughly disappointed when we ventured inside. This is, to date, the least repairable laptop we?ve taken apart. Apple has packed all the things we hate into one beautiful little package.

I would only get one to show off to clients I have one...like a status symbol.

All my work gets done on dual monitors coding, editing, encoding, watching TV, etc.

I can't do that on a laptop.

Just read that you can't make simple upgrades like adding your own RAM. You get what it comes with when you buy it, and are forced to pay Apple's massively markups on RAM.

At one point they want $400 for 8 GB and you could buy it at NewEgg for under $60.

I'm sure this will put A LOT of people off.

I feel bad for the guy who buys one and only uses it to surf online while sipping on a latte.

Most people will never use the macbook to its full potential.

if you don't need it than don't buy it it's simple, ah and btw it's "new" technology wait some period of time and you will able to fix your shit without a problem..

It is a shame as they are really making laptops into works of art. A whole new level..

Then you have customers like me that will order it the way I want it and never repair it myself.

Just like the first iPods. When the battery ran flat you could trash it and buy a new one still millions of morons were buying them. So this new MacBookPro is designed for people who like to get fucked with, there's plenty of them so they will sell very well.

such a bullshit comment. So you're "$150 dollar computer" runs faster than a core i7 with 8-16 gigs of memory?

There's a 3-4 week wait on shipping and counting. It keeps climbing.

Seems like it's a smashing success.

The 'fans' don't care about that.

Some of us go back to the days where any app like photoshop would grind pc's to a halt .... and we've never left. Just sayin.

boots faster than any mac in my office, works just as fast, has only 2 gig memory...

truth be told I do not do demanding stuff like CG I just surf the net and do every day work...for 2000$ that a hype book sells for I could build a rapist PC that would rape the fuck out of any apple...shit I could do it for half the money and get a cool monitor as well :D

i love my qosmio, mac have its people, they wont stop buying mac products overnight

Forget about this computer.

I want a new IPhone!!!!! Not interested in waiting any longer to upgrade. Can't stand the rumor mill talking about how crazy the new one is going to be (this happens every upgrade.)

Buy the warranty then. Youll be fine.
