The main distribution players in New Zealand is Calvista who are based in Melbourne, see www.calvista.co.nz

There are some smaller wholesalers but nothing of the scale of the Calvista operation.

There are several large distributors such as Video Expo www.videoexpo.co.nz

The demand for porn is quite good, it exceeds Australia on a per capita basis and Australians rank highly per capita so demand is awesome.

DVD sales in NZ were something over $450 million between 2001 and 2006, no stats have been done since then so I would imagine it's grown.

I don't know much about the current NZ stars, I do however know that of the local productions most gravitate to Australia rather than get produced locally.

I don't think there's much of a production industry there, if any at all. I don't even bother looking for models there. I bring them with me from elsewhere. NZ is attractive for my shooting because of their liberal attitude to sex and the amazing outdoor locations.

NZ has a decent number of cuties who would prefer getting into Porn than ending up on their backs in a downtown Auckland brothel. I think NZ is an opportunity missed for talent TBH.

I don't know about the specific laws, but porn and sex for money seems very well accepted there.
