How to build your site

Hi

Ok we all know the penguin update.
So how do you promote a new site if we are not allowed to buy links not allowed to do link building and are not allowed to use your own sites on you server to link to your new site.

So enlighten me are you all now trying to shout around "hey I have a new site please link to it, but I wont do anything back for you ?"

Or is it better to just forget about google and go on the way we always did. (I am in favor of this because I fucking hate google with their updates.)

Regards
Freek

If I told you here what works for me, in a few weeks it wouldn't work anymore

SEO tricks work if there's no competition, as soon as there are 1000's of webmasters competing with the same 'trick' it's no longer a 'trick. SEO is a zero sum game.

The best advice I can give is to create a number of sites and test a different technique for each, then when you find out what works keep it quiet :2 cents:

1) Find out when WWE wrestling is in a stadium near you.

2) Buy a ticket and arrive the night before, to avoid queues.

3) Stand directly behind Micheal Cole at the announce table.

4) Hold up large sign whenever he is speaking with your URL written on it, in 6 inch letters.

5) Profit???

But... All joking aside, lets do the math. You have now just exposed your URL to approx 5 million USA viewers, of key demographics (18-34 males and 18-49 males) SOURCE and potentially another 5 million in overseas markets combined - Canada, Ireland, UK etc...

So thats a worldwide audience of Ten Million. Ten Million people have seen your URL every time Cole is shown on screen - Thats about 15 to 20 mins exposure during a three hour broadcast...

Now to suggest that all these people then all type in your URL, is ludicrous. But what if 1% do? Actually scratch that. Lets say half of one percent of of the viewers do... Thats 50,000 new visitors...

If you cant make some $ out of 50,000 type-ins - Your in the wrong biz :2 cents:

freek01,

If you're imaginative with your keywords, it can work wonders!

I never cared much about google because they are nothing but a big huge hypocritical advertisement even though they want you to think they care about content. (Do a search on google for anything legit and you will get nothing but people trying to sell you something on page one unless it is something so obscure only about 10 people globally have heard of it).

They are trying to be a social network now and that is the future of the web, but that means you have to have your own unique content, and even that won't work until piracy is under control.

Point is, why do I want to go through a middle man to get to the main product? It used to be you had to do things that way and that's what made the affiliate matter. Now you just need a handful of people with large followings to like what you have to offer.
