Pharmaceutical drug maker GlaxoSmithKline will pay $3 billion and plead guilty to federal charges to resolve a slew of criminal and civil issues stemming from its use of kickbacks, mis-branding and other misconduct to market drugs such as Paxil, Wellbutrin and Advair, the U.S. government announced.

Stock seems unaffected by this

I bought my first laptop from a taxi driver that must have stolen it from a client that worked for this company. I went through all of his documents and was blown away by the amount of shit this guy was doing that was considered illegal. Very dirty company. I ended up forwarding a lot of the documents to the VP's of their competitors.

All of these companies are dirty. Do you want to know what they do with medicines that are rejected by the FDA or taken off the shelf in the USA or EU because they are damaging or lethal? They sell them to piss poor devolving countries like Cambodia.

i am waiting for someone to say they should not pay it cause it would make their meds more expensive

like when the oil companies with their billions of profit should not pay taxes but receive subsidies instead

And yet, nobody ever goes to jail. Just like the bank-created financial crisis.

"Ouch" is for a booboo.... it's not enough. These scum marketed dangerous drugs to children knowing they were extremely dangerous for them, knowing it was illegal, as well as misrepresenting dangerous drugs for incorrect purposes and prescriptions.

Imagine you were uninformed enough to trust your recently wined-and-dined doctor and fed your ten year-old Paxil or whatever else they were lying about.

"Misdemeanour"????? It's homicidal negligence at the least...

And nobody will go to jail or be personally bankrupted, so they will just rinse and repeat all over again...
