Webmasters getting angry at getting emails from programs to promote and calling it "spam".

To me...spam is when I get stuff in my email that has nothing to do with me from companies I never heard of.

But email that comes to me from companies in my own industry that pertains to making money?
I guess the definition of spam has gotten a lot broader than it used to be.

I get about 10 emails about viagra each day and I have nothing to do with it. Wish I could get more helpful spam...

I agree with you and do cold email people myself. The issue with Helen is, she likes to email the same person, a lot. It's never really customized and when you do reply back with some questions you just get pushed to promote them more. There is no warming the balls first, I've noticed. :)

I'm an affiliate of theirs and I only get a weekly email with promo tools that I use. So I guess there must be a different mailer that goes out to non-affiliates or something trying to get new people?

The issue is spammers WTFBucks.com send their spam to email addresses of other programs, and at least one program, when asked, denied knowledge of it. Which suggests that spammers WTFBucks.com stole those email addresses.

WTFBucks.com could have denied stealing those email addresses in this thread, and explained how they acquired them, but for some reason have not done so.

Stop spamming all 10 of my email addresses every 2 days. I'm also wondering where you got some of those email addresses.

people here have an incredibly short memory. If you were to say, stop dodging the accusations, and stop dodging the questions, take 15 seconds to simply admit you bought a big list of webmaster emails from a failing company, or exiting employee, or stole it somewhere and spammed the shit out of it to try and get some action at your program, then responses in your threads would be different.

Sure it is true that only a % of people here know what they are talking about, but if every single person on here is asking you to stop spamming them, and telling you they will not promote your program because of the spamming, well maybe, just maybe it's you, and not them that is causing the direction of this thread to steer away from your new FLV clips.

There are some talented writers and promoters in our industry, that do contract work, that could do a much more effective job of making sure everyone knows about what you are doing without resorting to spam. The return on your dollar would likely be better, the public opinion of your program would be better, and you might even get some press in areas you did not expect. Then instead of being busy dodging questions and shying away from accusations, you'd have time to post about poo, gun regulations, shitty Olympic coverage, and how MaDalton was the latest person to have his eyes replaced with lasers, (Some day, I too will have laser eyes!)
