That's it, Michael Phelps is a mutant
The guy is the Wayne Gretzky/Michael Jordan of swimming, no two ways about it. Just watched him win his 21st medal, gold of course, in the 100m butterfly. Commentator says he has a "six-foot-seven-inch wingspan" and he is, like me, 6' 4" tall.
So I took it upon myself to measure my own "wingspan" just to see how this Canadian tundra sloth compares. I've always been known as the guy with the long arms, and sure enough..... my double-arms-length measurement, or "wingspan" as they are calling it, is just over six foot five. Conclusion: Phelps is a mutant. |
dude's fucking nuts

It's much more than that...
He has hyperflexible ankles that allow his feet to move in a much wider range of motion than yours. He has a disproportionately small torso and long legs. They have done a bunch of reports and the guy has just about every natural advantage a human could have for swimming. Still his records and all others will be broken very soon by 'disabled' athletes with prosthetic devices that give them more advantages. http://www.latimes.com/sports/olympi...6434101.column Within a decade swimmers with 1 arm will be breaking world records left and right ;) |
It's the weed.

Sadly (for him) the geneticists focused only on traits that enhance his athletic ablity and neglected such traits as straight teeth. Mutant. |
He does have piranha teeth. Maybe you are onto something.

Yeah finger tip to finger tip should be very close to how tall you are. I'm 5' 11 and my span is 6' exactly. Many hallways are exactly 6' wide... I barely nick both walls at the same time.
Oh yeah and Phelps is definitely a mutant lol. |

just loool |
Phelps has a few genetic defects.
Marfan's Syndrome, giving him long limbs and fingers. A connective tissue disorder, allowing him flexibility that other swimmers don't have. His body produces less Lactic Acid than other athletes, making his recovery times much better. This means more working out and most importantly, the ability to swim two races in the same hour as if the first race never even happened. |
Hes amazing but this is proof that there are WAY too many swimming events
|
Id so do him!

He's a retired mutant now.
Wonder what kind of pension plan mutants have. |
Yeah the guy is a beast good for him!
|
If Phelps was a country, he'd be #40 in the all-time overall medal table. So I agree, he is indeed a mutant. =)

That is it... Cutting the legs off tomorrow and training for next time.
