Plugruish and Google

Very weird stuff happen here. So I launch a new site (a month ago, now pr2) and add a plugrush widget on it the other day, then after day or two (now), rankings drop, traffic from Google drops 90%. Same thing happened on a 1 year old domain i recently decided to ad a plugrush widget to. Are these really related? I mean Google ranking and traffic drops, if you use plugrush? Never happened before. :1orglaugh

Give it a few days. Your traffic might come back.

Same story here.

Could be just a coincidence though.

Happened to me on a site I forgot to uncheck plugrush's mobile redirect from in the widget code... not on any other one.

u-Bob 08-12-2012 03:43 PM

Never had that problem.

Never used Plugrush but certain footprints in the past have been devalued or deindexed, smartthumbs I think it was comes to mind.

I recall my sites dropped and others on here echoed the same effect.

It must be the mobile redirect. Google sees it as cloaking. The problem is not limited to Plugrush though. The majority of the mobile redirect scripts posted here or supplied by affiliate programs will cause this problem. Be smarter about your redirects.

Does this mean that the use of pretty link plugin is frowned upon as well?

I haven't seen any loss of traffic using Plugrush's mobile redirection...although their eCPM has been quite low the past week.

femdomdestiny 08-12-2012 11:29 PM

cpm, yes it suddenly went down. Why is that?

2012 08-12-2012 11:45 PM

almighty and omnipotent google doesn't like you selling their traffic, i'm sure it's on a case by case basis now selectively ... but .... what did google say about it ?

loreen 08-12-2012 11:54 PM

Redirecting mobile traffic on some of my blogs too but haven't seen any traffic changes.
And I've added plugrush 2-3 months ago.

Zeiss 08-13-2012 01:48 AM

Well. I don't use the mobile redirect of plugrush because I have my own mobile version and i redirect mobile to it. What is wrong with that? :D Most probably the bot fetches the content, which is bad because thousands of sites have the same. Could be just that? Dublicate content? Will see what will happen.
