Advice for new affiliates to adult in the year 2012 and beyond

1. If you can do anything else besides be an affiliate, do it.

2. If you don't think you are being cheated you probably are being cheated.

3. If you know you are being cheated it's likely worse than you think.

4. Work smarter than harder. Both doesn't hurt.

5. One program which pays you $100 a week and shaves 0% is better than a program which pays you $110 a week and shaves 20%. Don't believe me? Wait a year and see for yourself.

6. That guy making fun of you for being broke? Don't worry. He's broke too.

7. It's a good idea to do board searches on sponsors and others you do business with. Use the messages you find to make a decision. But also keep in mind the messages you don't find because the shady sponsor got the board owner to delete them through bribery or threats.

8. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

9. Pay attention more to input from people more like you.

10. Follow the bros and within one year you'll be crying. Guaranteed.

11. If you find something that works work it to the maximum while you can and keep your mouth shut.

12. It's a law. If a sponsor makes any changes at all it will almost never be to your benefit no matter what they will tell you.

13. Be weary of free advice. It's seldom truly free.

Feel free to add your own. :)

How is a program where you make $110/week worse than one that pays $100/week?

Socks 09-10-2012 01:37 PM

Uhhh you left out the rule to rule them all.

Keep your pants on, and your zipper closed while at work. Even if you work at home.

You left out a big part of that one. :) But you don't have to believe me.

When outsourcing, your three options are:

Good
Fast
Cheap

...but you only get to choose two. ;)

Waiting a year? In a year you'll have $520 more from the one that shaves.

14. dig in the dumpster for a better ROI

Appearances can be deceiving sometimes. It might work out that way but it usually does not. It's human nature for someone who has already crossed the line to try to get away with even more. If you can swap out your codes quickly and it's PPS go for it. Otherwise you'll probably be sorry soon enough. It happens over and over.

Bravo bravo...amazing read...and spot on from my own personal analysis!

I personally like #3, #7, and #9....

When you have a 150%-350% degree of certainty that you are being cheated...what hurts more then the fact that you are experiencing a financial ass rape in progress is the fact that you laid out so well my friend signup is the fact that it is probabally much much worse then one could imagine...

Also like you mentioned if something is working for you...do not air it on gfy as the trolls asshats and scammers will view you as a fresh and new lead to scam and leech from...they are much better organized and much better connected than the average joe blow webmaster would ever fathom!

Feel free to add your own. :) so here goes.

If it looks to good to be true. Don't touch it.

All that glitters isn't gold.

Beware Greeks bearing gifts.

If it looks like a rat, smells like a rat, talks like a rat, odds are it will bite you.

Most of the recommendations here are based on bro love and rarely the product.

Most of the praise or abuse here is based on bro love or hate and rarely true.

If after reading this thread you still want to be an affiliate. Come see me, I'm running a special lease plan this month, on the bridges I have for sale.

A lot of good points. This one really stands out, though, and is 100% true 100% of the time.

best advice, don't take advice from people posting on gfy

V_RocKs 09-11-2012 09:56 AM

If you suddenly get 2000 hits of SEO traffic on a domain don't touch a thing. Learn how to monetize it and don't delude yourself with it being more important to give them something they can bookmark. You are here to make money, not win friends with a dick in one hand and a mouse in the other!

This goes for production too.

Yesterday I was shooting pictures, after that would have been time for video. We ended up fucking and then neither one of us felt like shooting the solo video...

Whatever Paul Markham says is good, do the opposite and you'll do well.
