How do you cool a laptop?
 

Technicality wise ?

Move to Canada.

Some types of bottled water can cool it without damage Just pour over keyboard.

Aim the desk fan at it.

Put it in the fridge.

Work in a cold room.

Put it in the freezer.

Turn it off.

Put it on my ex-wife's lap for a couple seconds.

The number one thing, ironically is to not put it on your lap.

I had to get a dual fan cooling pad for mine.

Exactly, especially when its on all day ....

The first thing you should do if it's a old laptop is to open it up and remove the dust at the fans. Usually there's a lot of it.

Buy a laptop that doesn't suck.

Get a desktop

I pee on it.

I use a chiller mat with 2 fans that is on one of those "quick defrost" plates. Helps lots on a laptop that is on 24/7 to run my weather station.

I got a Zalman NC 1000. I turn it on when I have to load lots of shit at the same time. Did I say turn on? :1orglaugh

I have the same one, it's ok but just a fancy crap with 2 regular $5 fans. After a while it stopped cooling my laptop. It was doing 80c idle with this Zalman on and 90-95 with a lot of programs open etc. I changed the laptop fan to a new one and reapplied thermal paste to the best one (silver something 5) now my pc is 50c idle and up to 60-65 which is a huge decrease in heat.

Yeah thats the one I use, works OK.

For the ones who use a cooling pad, dont forgett every few months to clean the Laptop inside, since a lot of Dust would come in.
