unfortunately millions do not... and while on an emotional level, having had some form of photo ID since I was 14 years old, I do not understand how someone could NOT have a photo ID the fact of the matter is that millions dont and for a variety of reasons.
Luckily the state I live in is not one of the voter suppression states but if it was, here is a perfect example of how anti-American these laws are. My oldest son attends college in one of our State run schools. It also happens to be about a 3 hour drive from here. He can vote in the election in the city the college is located in because he has a student ID. If these laws passed he would be required to drive 6 hours round trip to cast his vote in our town because that is the location his DL was issued in and where his permanent residence is....They do not close classes for the elections. He would not be able to vote and he is a very politically minded young man.
The fact is that there are a lot of valid reasons why some citizens of the US do not have photo ID and that getting it would be prohibitively difficult and like the video points out far too many of them fall into one key demographic of the population... they'll vote for Obama.
With the way things are going in this country it is a time we really need participation in our 'Democracy' from a greater range of people than ever before. Now is not the time to try and find ways to make it harder to vote :2 cents: This is a cynical decision made by people who do NOT have the best interest of our country in mind at all. Merely a money and power grab by those already in power to suppress the voices of the ones who are only heard at election time.
