Last years AEVC was indeed amazing and many of the ppl who laughed about it were impressed when they actually did give it a shot and joined us inside the platform to check it out.

The conventions feature all the traditional things a real convention has in a 360' virtual setting married with todays tech, IE want more info click and get more info.

One of the biggest benefits to conventions of this fashion is you can attend from the comfort of your own home or office, no need for plane tickets, hotels, rental cars, food, printing costs, shipping, etc etc. just plop down in front your computer, load the software and enter the convention!

take some time and check out the media from last years convention: http://www.adultvirtualconvention.com/2012/media.html click on the days to view the various panels (PS Day 1 " LokiCash Presents Adult Virtual Worlds and Gaming: Strategies for Monetization & Success" was the panel I was on make sure you give that a watch/listen ;) )

I would advise EVERYONE to mark your calendars and come check out the convention, and if you attended the first one you already know you'll want to come back!

I COULD go on and on and on about the platform itself (as anyone who knows what we've been doing there since Feb knows lol) But I will just say this...

It is NOT a "game" or "video game" (Games have points, levels, minibosses etc)

Utherverse is a social networking platform with thousands of daily active members (most "live" on the platform 12+ hours a day)

And last but not least we have created an entire world on the Utherverse platform "Loki Land" check it out at: http://www.lokiland3d.com (YES you can promote it and get paid for your reffers!)

Any questions I'll do my best to answer and if I can't I'll get one of the UV staff in here to answer.

Remember Second Life? It's like that, but shitter.

YUMMY! 10 year old idea that didn't work then, now badly implemented and even crapper than it was when it first came out!

Sarah_Jayne 09-25-2012 09:26 AM

So, last time around, what was the demographic of those that 'attended'?

CurrentlySober 09-25-2012 09:31 AM

Can I do a virtual poo?

How much time have you spent on the Utherverse platform?

IF I recall correctly both Utherverse and Second Life came out about the same time, SL "beat" UV to the mainstream media and ended up getting big name companies behind them (Nike, Levis, Ford, Coke etc) and UV focused on more of the "adult" world niche.

I've spent the last 8 months on the Utherverse platform and the last thing I would say about it is that it "doesn't work" instead what I have witnessed along with other companies and individuals is the exact opposite. I see the platform as not only the future of social networking but a HUGE income potential for those who see/know how to utilize the platform.

As for SL being "better" then UV that really is up to each person to decide for themselves, at this moment the graphics are better on SL BUT a new platform is being rolled out by UV which if you've seen the sample videos BLOW THE DOORS off of what SL has/offers right now.

The controls and features are also much easier to deal with on the Utherverse platform, many users are from Second Life and have switched to Utherverse because the controls and features are much easier to learn and use.

I would suggest that if you have not already, make an account there and spend a bit of time exploring the different places and worlds inside of the Utherverse platform, at any given time there are between 3-5k people active and in world 24 hours a day from all over the world (and the BULK of those people are PAYING Members so I guess the platform does indeed work ;) )

according to the "wrap up report" published on the convention website:

Quote:

With approximately 8,000 in attendance over the three day period....
(Full breakdown of traffic can be seen at: http://www.adultvirtualconvention.com/2012/report.html )

As for demographics that was not published in the wrap-up-report (But I will make sure to pass along that that info SHOULD be included in future reports as we DO have access to that information so I know that the office folks have it as well.

as an example I can give you a portion of my stats from "Loki Land" (This is only a small selection of the total stats as our total stats are spread over 7 worlds that make up the full Loki Land World.)

LOKI LAND STATS JUNE - SEP 24th 2012

TOTAL UNIQUE MEMBERS 14,249
TOTAL SESSIONS LOGGED: 24,310

AVERAGE AGE:
25% 18-25
28% 26-35
27% 36-45
21% 46+

GENDER:
53% Males
45% Female
2% "Other" (Transgenderd)

I will add that gender is subjective as anyone can create an account and pick whatever sex they want to be, so some men may be women and some women may be men, however I hold more trust in the age stats as every paid member has gone through some sort of age verification (ranging from the "traditional" credit card join, to sending in docs / proof in some cases)

From what I observed during the last AEVC the demographic was a mix of people from our industry in the form of exhibitors, speakers and attendees, first time members who learned about the convention from a number of news sites, blogs, and social media and existing members of the platform who took part in the events as attendees.

if you would like to know more about the stats (of our world that is) feel free to ask, I'd post it all here but it would be a pure flood of numbers, figures and percentages that would most likely just get lost in the shuffle lol.

I do want to add this though...

As I've been in the adult industry myself since the late 90's I know that at first glance the numbers I posted could be "small" or even "laughable" BUT what needs to be kept in mind when dealing with these stats...

Every single "hit" or "session" or "member" is what the industry would call both TARGETED and PRE-QUALIFIED traffic, The bulk have all spent money to be a full "VIP" members and most of those also spend additional money each month, week and even some each day inside the platform.

All jokes aside, VIP members have access to both "drugs" and "drinks" each gives a diff effect..

PILLS: when you take a pill you get a rave glow stick to use on dance floors (Pills are the most common drug used in world as almost everyone wants a glowstick when dancing lol)

SMOKE & DRINKS: Depending on how much you smoke or drink your avatar walks oddly and your screen has a breathing effect.

SHROOMS: (Could not tell you lol but I'll try to remember to eat some shrooms soon lol)

It really is not only a great concept but a great experience as well, I personally have not attended any adult conventions over the years (never saw the point for what I've always done in the biz and I'm DEATHLY afraid of flying lol)

BUT I have been to a number of other conventions over the years, comiccons, Detroit Auto Show, Consumers Electronic Shows, etc etc.

Last years AEVC was my first "Virtual" convention as well as my first adult convention, I hopped on as a sponsor, exhibitor and speaker and I honestly had a fucking blast! and within the first 24 hours inside the platform I saw the potential of the platform and knew instantly that I needed to bring my brand inside and create a mini world (which as of now has turned into something far bigger then I had planned on creating lol)

You'd really have to be there to fully experience it, but imagine a traditional convention spread out across multiple rooms, you start in the lobby where you find the main doors to the convention, doors to the event parties, map of the floors and the registration / check in station, go through the main doors and you are taking to the main hall.

Inside the main hall is the gold sponsor, networking bar, and porn star meet and greet station, doors to the 2ndary hall, studio (for mini sessions) and the theater (main speaking sessions)

Enter the 2ndary hall and you find the booths for the silver and bronze sponsors, and doors leading to the exhibitor halls (each hall featuring up to 7 booths)

Each booth is created to spotlight a brand or service and feature either in world "jump links" or external web links to give you more information, sign up etc. some booths have staff manning them to interact with the crowd, some are empty but have all the info you'd need to learn about them.

and all the while as you navigate the floors you can meet, chat & interact with real people that are either from your industry or are potential customers.

there is a built in chat to communicate, VOIP voice chat, and the ability for private 1 on 1 chats OR private group chats, you can also of course utilize other forms of communications while in world such as skype.

This is also not a new thing for the platform, the 2013 AEVC will be their 5th virtual convention

In Late June we were the gold sponsor for the 2nd UtherConvention (mainstream convention to showcase the platform and existing businesses inside the platform) We used the convention to unveil our world and to generate new partnerships with the existing "companies" inside the platform and for us again it was a huge success!

For the upcoming 2013 AEVC we plan on taking the Silver package (And I'll most likely be speaking again) and our focus will be to get more adult companies introduced to the platform via Loki Land to show them exactly what the platform can do for their brands.

You sound like a guy that backed betamax 5 years after VHS came out and that you're really really trying to justify your mistake.

It's funny how passionate people can be to convince themselves something is good, when it is a bad 10 year old idea that didn't work then, and doesn't work now.

The fact Baddog is about the only guy here that liked it speaks volumes.

I don't really care about gender as much as I care about if affiliates are there or if it is just the same folks I meet at 'real' world shows showing up with their avatars.

It's perfectly fine that you don't share the same opinion as I do, but I do find it very hard to understand how you say "doesn't work"

Last year's convention brought in 8,000 people and from all the people I talked to that attended they loved it and will be back for the next convention in Feb.

For it to have "worked" in your mind how many ppl should of attended?

Daily the platform has 3-5k people online and active at any given time, and most of those are paid monthly members.

How many members does a "paysite" (since it does cost a monthly fee to take full advantage of all the features) need to have daily above 3k - 5k to "work"?

the comments about me trying 'really really hard to justify my mistake' just makes no sense to me, as numbers and results don't lie.

Was not sure if you were asking about demographics in regards to customer or business base.

On a business aspect I'd say it's a good mix, esp since you have people from all over the world that prolly could not / would not make it to say some of the ones in the states.

On top of that you also have access to potential webmasters already in the platform but not established webmasters that are looking to make money.
