Page 3 google.....
If I am on page three and I have not updated in a LONG LONG time would it be best to leave it alone or start the updating again and see what happens?
I'm scared to touch it. LOL |
I would leave it for now
|
page 3 are you kidding me? do you even receive 1 unique a day from that serp?
|
don't fuck with it, you might lose your 5 hits per month....

Does anyone go to page 3?
|
Unless the position is bringing you thousands of quality hits per day you have little to lose and much to gain depending on the term. Try making small changes and keep track of which direction the changes send you. I wouldn't stop updating unless you got magical first page positions on great terms on a small site with few back links. In all other situations updating is usually the better option. If the site got there on back links and relevant content an update shouldn't hurt much if at all.

I get why you're scared dude, it's not about the 5 hits you're probably getting now.. it's about the potential traffic from a top 10.. you're worried about slowing down the climb from page 3 to page 1.
But really, you shouldn't worry about messing things up by updating it, especially if you're talking about a blog or something. Ranking becomes exponentially harder from page 3 to page 1, and even moreso from rank #10 to rank #1. So if you have a strong backlink profile or are actively getting new high quality links from related sites I don't think you'd plummet over an update or two. But of course, take it with a grain of salt.. there are many factors at play. |
If you are getting good traffic now and it helps make you money then I would not bother but if it is not doing much then work it to page one. What do you have to lose if you are not making anything from it as it is.
I get about 40 hits a day from one that shows on page 2-3 but I have not been able to get it any better no matter what I do. |
If you want, tell me the term then I'll make a blog and get it to page 1-2 for it, then I'll give it to you if I keep a couple of backlinks in the footer..

Its not hard to reach page one if you work in a niche. A lot harder if you're after generic terms. Page three for "Porn" might not be bad. Page three for "Balloon fetish porn" is basically useless.
I have Google set up to show me 50 results per page, so once I hit page two of the results I often find interesting sites - but that's not a good place to be in the listings if you want traffic and profits. In all honesty, if my sites aren't listed "above the fold" on page one of Google's SERPs, I just let them sit there and I never update them. I'm very niche oriented, though. |

Page 3 isn't a "bad" place to be. Lots of guys on here make a lot of money for a lot of page 3 rankings instead of 2-3 page 1 rankings. :winkwink: |
Just give it a go man, not really much to lose :D
|
you wont succeed unless you take the risk.,
thats what i learned. page 3 is nothing, keep updating and who knows you ll end up on 1st page. |
What's the search term? Must be really big term to be excited about page 3.

So...I am on page one for a popular solo model that is on my blog that I haven't updated in weeks.
I have been busy doing mainstream sites that are keeping me busy and the adult stuff is on auto pilot. Shit is weird, my adult stuff has increased 30 percent in the past month. Now, I am catching up on bills with plenty of cash left over to pay more bills. |

Page 3? Keep working at it until page 1. Heck,, depending on how easy the term is, try for #1 and keep working to keep it there.
