Samuel L. Jackson was in "Goodfellas"...

I've watched that movie at least 20 times and not until watching it again last night did I realize Samuel L. Jackson was in it. :helpme

seeandsee 11-09-2012 01:43 PM

What where? Is he gangmember that robed airport cash, then killed in his room?

helterskelter808 11-09-2012 01:46 PM

Next time watch closer when he's shot; he's (totally obviously) staring at the bed in front of him for the blood spray to appear before falling over. Once seen, cannot be unseen. I mean I always look for it every time I see the movie.

A lot of people also don't realize there are over 20 actors from Sopranos that were also in Fellas.

A lot of people don't realize Dennis Farina wasn't in Goodfellas.

LOL That "25 celebrities" list is a joke, with perhaps the two most ridiculous examples being Jack Nicholson and Steve Buscemi.

No, I'd heard the 'short' version of Layla loads of times, I mean the 'piano coda' that starts at 3:10:

Which still always reminds me of the scenes in Goodfellas, where they're finding bodies everywhere.

He was already committed to shooting "Men of Respect". Great choice, ehh?

Aidoru 11-09-2012 09:42 PM

Richard Branson was in a James Bond movie. Guess which one.

helterskelter808 11-09-2012 10:07 PM

^ Without cheating/checking, I'll say one of the Brosnan ones, since I don't think I've seen any of those and I don't remember Branson in a Bond (though I'm not really a Bond fan). Die Another Day?

I thought for a while after seeing Goodfellas, and after later seeing Farina in things like Get Shorty and Out Of Sight, that he had played Billy Batts. According to the internet/IMDB it's quite a common misapprehension. Funny thing is Frank Vincent, who did play Batts (and memorably wielded a baseball bat at the end of Casino) and was one of the Goodfellas in the Sopranos, doesn't really look anything like Farina.

Exactly the thought that came into my head when you said he wasn't in goodfellas.

Just took a quick look again, and he does actually have a passing resemblance to Farina..... but only in that Godfellas scene. Other movies looks nothing like him.

helterskelter808 11-09-2012 11:06 PM

Yeah, exactly. In Goodfellas there's a resemblance, or I can see how I originally thought it, and how other people did, but everywhere else they look different.
