I am not afraid of becoming a minority. My kid will be a minority by the time she hits college; She had better get a fucking minority school loan and then a minority small business loan.

You are not afraid because you do not treat minorities any differently.

A lot of programs are for women and minorities so if your daughter takes advantage of the things out there she can get them.

Most people in minority groups in the US are on welfare, which is funded almost entirely by white people. So when you say that minority groups are going to become the majority, the economic implications of that become a concern.

You could say that minority groups are getting stronger financially and they won't need welfare at the same rate per capita in the future. That's an assumption that some believe and others do not. Mexicans seem to be moving forward. First and second generation Mexican-Americans will likely always need welfare, but the third generation ones are getting an education and decent jobs. The black communities still generally not value even a high school diploma, so don't expect any improvements there.

But the color of skin is the least of the worries in the USA. Wait until all of them/get need government assistance. As Matt said, the economic implications of that are a concern and could be disastrous for the nation.

A few facts to back up what you wrote...

According the 2010 US census, out of a total population of 311 591 917 people, 115 289 009 people are racial minorities. Low income racial minorities consitute just under 60% (27 million) of the total low income population (46.2 million) of the US. I'm not sure how 27 million out of 115 million racial minority Americans consitutes "most", but the guy who wrote that can go with it, I guess. We should also probably ignore the almost 19 million low income white people in North America availing themselves of social assistance programs.

fact is, racial minorities in North America experience disproportionate rates of poverty and marginalization for reasons that are often partially predicated upon race and racism. The prison system is an excellent example. Sentences for racial minorities convicted of drug-related "crimes" (including simple possession) are much longer than those meted out to white defendants charged with the same crime. Add in disproportionate poverty and the general over-policing of Black and Latino males in particular, and it becomes a bit clear why prisons in North America disproportionately house racialized inmates.

No white person here on this forum would want to deal with the racism (both overt and systemic) that racialized men and women encounter as a fact of life. Which is the reason why I think the question asked in the OP is a great one.

LMFAO - Watch 5 minutes of the tv show, COPS and even a dimwitted liberal can see why so many people, on the lower end of economic scale, of all colors, are in jail. Cause they are STUPID as FUCK.

Here is an interesting fact and question.

Based on the 2010 census 4,347 of every 100,000 black people were in jail. 1,755 of every 100,000 Hispanic people were in jail. 678 of every 100,000 white people were in jail. This means that black people are put in jail at about 6.4 times the rate of whites. Hispanics are put in jail at a rate of about 2.5 times that of whites. So clearly there is a pretty major disproportion.

You can't argue that blacks and Hispanics aren't more likely to end up in jail than white so here is my question. Why is it this way? Are black people committing 6.4 times as many crimes? Or is it the type of crimes they are committing that is sending them to jail?

Everybody worries about their political support. They have to worry about the positions, titles and achievements they can get. Weed smoking persons keep saying things like “they are from the turf.” Whatever… Just keep in mind what the stereotypes are out there.

A lot of people on GFY and "another board" seem to think I dislike minorities. I grew up in a very small very white community in rural NJ. I didn't talk to a black man until I was in the Marines, in boot camp, and I "quickly got over that".

Most of my friends these days are white or Hispanic. I don't think much about it.

Of course there are white people getting assistance, but the percentage is not anywhere near the percentage of the minority population that collects welfare. And a lot of them are just gaming the system.

Why wouldn't they? I am pretty said to see decreasing white population (and even more if we look at percentages, because all the other races are increasing) in the whole world.

the problem is many immigrants (even american born minorities) come from cultures where there are either no jobs or criminality is the main source of income or social type governments provide for them. this does not benefit the american society that operates on the idea that everyone should pull their own weight (assuming they are able bodied enough to). some immigrants work very hard but there are many that come from such poverty that a bit of money for nothing every month is great for them. if anything people should be worried about the american work ethic becoming the minority.

yes. why it's so hard for liberals to accept this is that it's much easier to cling to their long held beliefs than deal with the truth. the vast majority of liberals live in their comfortable worlds never having touched or smelled the worlds they profess to know so much about.

minorities have always been treated badly in every country they have existed on this planet, it's part of human nature it would seem. the problem is that unlike other minorities the blacks haven't been able to rise about it. black progress took many steps backward when hip hop and rap became their dominant culture, a celebration of criminal life.

those minorities who put an emphasis on hard work and education always do best.

i do think the blacks have it worse than any other minorities, to me it's as simple as that they are the most physically different minority, centuries of white and not so white civilizations have looked at them as the lowest race on the totem pole, less evolved savages.

and with all that, the people of the United States including millions of white people voted for a black man as their leader. i don't see France, England, Canada, Australia or any other white dominated country with a black head of state.

This is often pointed out as if it actually really means something. The US hasn't had, for example, a female leader, unlike other countries. What does that prove?

I brought this topic up because there is a grand conspiracy going on.

The new majority will enslave the new minority or at the very least make them ride in the back of the bus, drink from different water fountains, attend separate schools and use their own restrooms.

The gays will then prevent them from marrying, turn everyone gay, legalize beast and fill the networks with Will & Grace reruns.

All others will be declared illegal immigrants and sent back to whatever country their family immigrated from.

as far as Canadian immigration reform, we have a right wing gov that in many ways is similar to the GOP down south, so the policies of the Conservatives are to be expected. We're following a failed path that the US is now moving away from. If you really want a laugh though, consider the gov policies towards First Nations peoples that have existed throughout the history of our country. It's a series of case studies in structured inequality and poverty. Racism in Canada is nothing new. We've perfected it to a fine and subtle art.

I was just stating facts. The numbers I posted are reality. They were taken from the US census. The question is, why are they like this? I don't know the answer to that.

You can assume one of two reasons for it. Either black people are committing many more crimes than white people or black people are being more severely sentenced than white people.

How is that PC? It is a legit question.
