If the same percentage of whites voted for Romney as the percentage of blacks voted for Obama, Romney would be president. But that's a story no one want's to mention when "race" comes up.

Black people have been voting democrat for decades. Obama got 94% of the black vote in 2008. Gore got 90% of the black vote in 2000.

Race may have something to do with it, but it is primarily policy.

In 1964 Lyndon Johnson helped push through the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and his opponent in that election (Goldwater) opposed it. Johnson got 94% of the black vote in that election and in every presidential election since no republican candidate has ever gotten more than 15% of the black vote.

So yes, if 90% of all white people voted for Romney he would have won, but minorities aren't just voting for Obama because he is black, there is a lot of history behind why they vote democrat.

That's exactly what they'll do, because for the most part they see nothing wrong with their message...and the ones trying to reform the party will be shut down. It might take a few election cycles before the American people are ready to accept a conservative candidate -- because the demographic is going in one direction, and the Republican party is going in the exact opposite direction, into right wing whacko land.
