I stand corrected, Race had nothing to do with this past election!

Since Twitter has so many users, it is easy to researchers to spot trends.

The following chart shows which areas had the most racist election tweets:

The greener the state, the more racist tweets its residents produced.

Notice the South and Midwest.

Here is how America voted for President in '12:

I guess I need to change the title. Looks like race was a motivating factor for many to vote Romney.

I think this was pretty obvious since Reagan.. TBH.. :1orglaugh

Race is just an added bonus to rant about.. Prior to this it was Hollywood elite, Draft Dodger, flip flopper, tree hugger.. ect..ect.. It's not about any of these things as they are just excuses that are used when there is no real platform or substance.

brassmonkey 11-12-2012 04:35 PM

and wtf was it before obama? when whites voted for the white guy?

Do you not remember the last few elections.. These are the things the GOP called the previous Democrat presidents & their running mates..

The GOP always has some sort of name they can call the opposition to try to degrade them in the eyes of their base. It was just easier with Obama being black to use the racist card and things like their fav catch phrase of this last election being "put the white back in the white house".

The left just keeps it simple and calls the right wackos & relgious nut jobs.. :1orglaugh

L-Pink 11-12-2012 05:32 PM

I voted for a white guy.

candyflip 11-12-2012 05:34 PM

I don't see how race can even be an issue. He's mixed race. He's got all sides covered.

If the same percentage of whites voted for Romney as the percentage of blacks voted for Obama, Romney would be president. But that's a story no one want's to mention when "race" comes up.

wehateporn 11-12-2012 05:58 PM

The same happens on the voting for Pop Idol, but the winner's race doesn't matter, they're just a puppet controlled by the same people

Don't these states are usually always red (republican)?
Nice try to stir the shit.
How about I post you 10 videos of black people saying they are voting for Hussein because he is black if you posted same number of videos of white people saying they are voting for Mitt because he is white?

You must be trolling

To vote solely on the color of a persons skin is pretty fucked up.

Yep and its a shame when white dude is advocating black side in these race arguments while actual racists are blacks (bigger percentage of blacks are racists than percentage of whites). Mostly because of political correct white guilt wussies...

RKLover 11-12-2012 06:17 PM

Seems some Republicans voted Obama for reasons other than race.

But most blacks did not. They voted Obama for racial reasons.

rogueteens 11-12-2012 06:29 PM

That comes across as "Yeah, I voted for the black guy because all the prior Presidents were white."

That is racist. :2 cents:

bronco67 11-12-2012 08:39 PM

Hmmm...where's Ed Hammer? We were going back and forth on this, and here's some home run data to match my other data which already proved my point.

ilnjscb 11-12-2012 08:53 PM

Meaningless graph, pointless discussion.

Since this is the first black president, and since he WON THE ELECTION (twice) quit trying to stir the pot about racism. The funny thing is you are probably white, yet you've appointed yourself the racism czar.

More white people voted for Obama than all the other ethnic groups combined.

It doesn't mean every white person is racist. It means most of the racist ones are clustered in a certain area. If you look at that thing, it really does say a lot. Just like the 538 blog, which no one thought meant anything until it actually did.

there's no salary, but every time you turn in a racist whitey, you get 10% of his estate. So about 500 million a year.

You're right about racists being clustered but it goes both ways.

Black people have been voting democrat for decades. Obama got 94% of the black vote in 2008. Gore got 90% of the black vote in 2000.

Race may have something to do with it, but it is primarily policy.

In 1964 Lyndon Johnson helped push through the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and his opponent in that election (Goldwater) opposed it. Johnson got 94% of the black vote in that election and in every presidential election since no republican candidate has ever gotten more than 15% of the black vote.

http://www.factcheck.org/2008/04/bla...ocratic-party/

So yes, if 90% of all white people voted for Romney he would have won, but minorities aren't just voting for Obama because he is black, there is a lot of history behind why they vote democrat.

But 98% of black people (a lot who are religious conservatives) voted for Obama but that isn't racist - no way.

Yea sadly everything he spells out in his little blog post will fall on death ears. The GOP isn't actually interested in changing, but rather will try to re-badge the same turd and try to force it on the American public in 4 more years.

Welcome to America the new one party govt. That is unless the Libertarians can pull a rabbit out of their hat, but in all honestly I suspect the Libertarian party will just get flooded with GOP ex-pats and turn into another failed Republican party.

You can ask a judge to restore your voting rights, you know.

"If you have been convicted on multiple felony charges, you have lost certain civil rights as a
citizen. In order to restore those rights, you must apply to the sentencing court to vacate judgment of guilt, dismiss charges and/or restore civil rights in Arizona."

That's exactly what they'll do, because for the most part they see nothing wrong with their message...and the ones trying to reform the party will be shut down. It might take a few election cycles before the American people are ready to accept a conservative candidate -- because the demographic is going in one direction, and the Republican party is going in the exact opposite direction, into right wing whacko land.

CDSmith 11-13-2012 09:19 PM

A certain % of white folk voted for Obama because they didn't want to be percieved as being racist.

Or so I've heard.
