Under Age Webmasters

Last night I was on the board and saw a post from someone claiming to be 16 years old so the thought came to me that whatever sponsor(s) she/he is using could be sued for giving her/him access to pornagraphy.

I can see the US Government demanding valid ID before you can sign up for a sponsor in the near future. Actually I'm surprised this law isn't already in existence.

If mommy and daddy wanted to I'm sure they could bring these sponsors to court and they would most likely have a good case.

Something to think about huh!

I am only 15 yrs old.

Its sad, but there are plenty. What they need to understand is that they are breaking the law, and also getting other people into trouble.

if underage surfer knew that to have access to the porn he want,
he just have to signup as an affiliate.
the sponsor will change their law for sur in the future.

True but try to tell that to a 16 year old kid.
When I was that age I had very little cares and I sure didn't think about consequences, especially if it was other peoples problem.

If I could get away with something I would usually tried it.

difference between consuming and selling, there's no laws as of now against open tgp's... There is a law on an age limit for selling

exspamr 02-18-2003 05:19 PM

the government is too busy passing other laws that kill our rights... like the patriot act... i heard ashhahahahaha wants to pass a new bill where the government can demand a hair sample from you for no reason at all... its a shame that overzealous politicians are using the post 9-11 climate to push their own agendas through

What do you mean by that? Haven't heard of no law on a TGP. Why would that be?

progex 02-18-2003 05:25 PM

There are no consequences to getting caught as an underage, is there?

I ment there are laws that prevent underage people to distribute porn...and there are no laws preventing TGP's with no avs as of yet...so they aren't comparable

NastyJack 02-18-2003 05:49 PM

I don't know how you guys feel about it but personally I think that having to prove your age before getting access to porn would prove beneficial for us.

What I'm saying is that if someone wanted to check out your site they would have to have a valid credit card - otherwise it's astalavista baby!

I know that SexKey has been doing this for a long time but as long as it's not law people will be sucking up our B/W without ever buying a damn thing.

Allot of people don't buy porn because they think that they're gonna get riped off or something like that so this would assure them that it's safe to use they're credit cards online.

I personally know several people that don't use they're credit cards online because they think that they're information is going to end up in the wrong hands.

Well, there is some truth in there....:Graucho

Credit card hacker hits 8 million - 8 million cardholders of Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover could be affected. See:

Jokes on them... i'm bald (by choice)

It may not seem fair, but before the parents sue, someone should sue the parents. Locally, one of the school systems had a problem with kids playing hookie. The parents of the kids would plead "My kid is out of control. I have to work and earn a living. I can't watch my kid all day long." They tried everything, but it wasn't until the authorities started putting the PARENTS in jail that the kids finally started listening. The kids (as all teens do) wanted the right to make adult decisions on their own. This turned out to be the only way the law could convince them that "like it or not, you're not an adult yet and your behavior will have an impact on your entire family, through your parents." This worked.

This would be very specific internet law, and nothing like that exists for anything online. The Government for the most part isn't even involved with the internet. The laws that are there are very general, and complement the more serious offline laws (child porn and sales of illegal items for instance).

The idea that they would create a pinpoint specific internet law to keep minors from signing up for porn sponsor programs seems comical right now.
