Where to live in Miami?
I am thinking of going to Miami to see if there is an area I would like to live. I live in Rio and the midwest at the moment. Miami would be a nice blend or least that is how I remember Miami.
South Beach has changed and is pretty rough? That is what I am hearing. So Ft Lauderdale is the upscale area? I guess I want trendy versus old. Thanks. |
Talk to Jimmy Gunn. He lives around that area, and can probably answer your questions.

Give us more details on what you're looking for.
Nice suburban area away from the city? Young, hip urban area with lots of bars, nightlife, etc. |
Lots to factor in. Do you want a family life Go west Young man.. West of I75 that is. if you want beach then you will be east of I95 and that means paying storm insurance. hope you make the money for that.
You can and will in the long run make an ass ton more money being in Miami. Lots going on if you can put it to use. Good luck either way. |

I work and live in South Beach. It's very safe and fairly expensive. It's a trendy tourist spot at the end of the day, the population constantly fluctuates depending on the season. Brazillians and Canadians are literally dominating the real estate market in south beach right now by buying up anything they can get their hands on. |

Everyone would have a favorite area, but if you want to live the good life, you should take a take a good look at Key Biscayne. It may cost a few dollars more, but well worth it.
Essentially an island minutes from downtown Miami and South Beach that is by far the safest place to live, but with quick and easy access to the night life and everything else that would be fun and interesting to see and do. |
opalocka fo shizil
prime real estate there! |
Hollywood is a good place..pretty much near Diplomat Resort, and south of it in Golden Beach..

I like what is called ' millionaires row' its collins between south beach and bal harbour. Can get a nice place on the beach for a decent price and the surrounding area is nice. South beach has nice buildings but is overpriced and the areas around it are gross. Same goes with North Miami. If you dont care about being next to the beach, Coral Gables is nice. About 10-15 minutes west of south beach.

Buying a ticket for Feb. Maybe I can just look for myself as that is exactly where I wanted to be. And obviously seeing as I am moving up from Rio, I like Brazilians. |

https://youtube.com/watch?v=fg3vNuWCfd8 If anything I was talking about the weekend you went during. Thats the worst weekend of the year for Miami Beach. They have to bring in hundreds of extra officers to handle that crowd. I forget the exact stats, but during that weekend alone, its something like 3500 9-11 calls and 1000 + arrests Other than that weekend (which the mayor has been trying to cancel now for about 6 years) It's a pretty chill place, amazing art shows like Art Basel, Boat shows, food and wine festivals, spring break etc etc. |
Ok awesome. That has always been my feel when there at other times. Damn the condos have gone up fast.
