Hehe, I still prefer cats though. The one I have just now is great to have around the house...

Very true. You have to wonder about people who say they like cats better.

thing is... cats rules :2 cents:

them take themselfs out, use the toilet (so to speak), bath themselfs ... and, as ilustrated above, are winners.

I hate cats. Here is an article for those who still think cats are smarter than dogs http://m.psychologytoday.com/blog/ca...telligent-cats
ds

loopardo 12-27-2012 12:45 AM

humm, looks like that article bounce around the subject a lot and finally says little to nothing...
however!

"In the case of dogs versus cats we also have a problem, since each are specialized to do different things. Dogs are designed to be more efficient runners while cats have better ability at manipulating things with their paws. Thus a test that involved pulling strings or operating levers would tend to favor a cat, while a test involving moving from place to place, where speed is a measure of performance, would favor a dog."

and we developed "smarter" because the opposite thumbs and the thus how we use these hands as tool and such, right?

So true :)

BlackCrayon 12-27-2012 06:47 AM

dogs are too damned needy. they're cute as hell but a lot more work than a cat. i don't want an animal where i have to walk it in the freezing ass winter and pick up its steaming shit.

Choopa_Pardo 12-27-2012 07:08 AM

I loved owning dogs, but the two cats I have now are very low maintenance. I can leave them alone for two, three days at a time, and I doubt they even notice I've been gone. Having dogs is very much like having children.

michael.kickass 12-27-2012 07:35 AM

Absolutely true! :)

John-ACWM 12-28-2012 07:33 AM

:1orglaugh right!

Cats are disgusting

tony286 12-28-2012 07:47 AM

A dog will lay down its life in front of yours without a second thought. Try and to get a cat to do that lol

Choopa_Pardo 12-28-2012 08:04 AM

They're both enjoyable pets to have around. Completely different dispositions and personalities, though.

Cats carry a protozoan which can infect the human brain & can cause schizophrenia in women.

Why do you have to wonder?

That's for pregnant women cleaning a very dirty litter box, and it's very rare.

as opposed to cats who shit INSIDE your house in a box? You have to pick up their shit regardless. I'd rather keep the shit outside..

I've lived with both and both have their positives and negatives but the biggest difference is a dog will come to you and cheer up your day where a cat will sit there until it needs to eat.

try training a cat btw..

i don't know how you pick up your dogs shit (assuming you have one) but what i see most people do is put their bare hands inside of a bag and pick it up fresh, warm and gooey then turn the bag inside out. then they have to carry that bag around with them until they can dispose of it. at least with cats you can just scoop the box every couple of days and be done with it. as for cats not being friendly, its not really true. it depends on the cat. my cat meets me at the door when i come home, hangs out with me and loves belly rubs.

we use something called a shovel, you can buy them at a hardware store pretty cheap really ;)

if you walk them sure you gotta bag it, but carrying it for 2 mins until you find a bin or a trash can isn't exactly the end of the world either. What? never changed a diaper either?

Matt 26z 12-31-2012 09:20 AM

Caring for 4-5 cats is like having 1 dog. As long as they are fully litter trained they are the easiest animal to keep.

no, i have never changed a diaper..not yet anyways. i like dogs, they're cool i just don't get all the cat hate. i also have a lot of bad experiences with neighbors who owned dogs ie letting the dogs shit and piss so much in their yards that they have to resod it every year and the smell of old shit in the summer was unbearable. i know those rare cases though. i don't know, i've always grown up with cats. the only dogs i had got run over within weeks of owning them (grew up on a busy highway), perhaps if that didn't happen i'd have a different view.
