Primitive shithole countries full of violence are often highly religious countries

Religion, primitivity and violence are strongly connected.

FACT!

That would certainly explain why Donny founds guns shortly after finding God.

Bryan G 01-10-2013 12:35 PM

I would have worded it a little more politely but you are correct lol. Its also the desperately poor that are highly religious.

scottybuzz 01-10-2013 12:40 PM

England - the most non-religious country I can think off:

Lack of education.

More likely lack of common sense.

Dirty F 01-10-2013 12:56 PM

It's no coincidence that gun nutters, criminals and religious nutters in general have a lower iq.

Wow. Who would have guessed that Austria, Belgium, Netherlands and even Luxembourg have higher violent crime rates than the US?

Caligari 01-10-2013 01:11 PM

Yep, just look at that gang rape in India. Fucking sick shit, but they have the suspects.

Meanwhile in the U.S. the FBI has now gone to Steubenville to investigate a gang rape cover up...

Oh wait a second, they're actually only there to investigate death threats to the Sheriff (who is involved in the cover up) supposedly made by anonymous after they blew the lid off the case with video showing the football goons having a laugh about gang rape.

But thank god I don't live in India...

.

Rochard 01-10-2013 01:13 PM

This morning in a gun thread I pulled some stats for homicide rates - it was surprising. Here in the US we are all worried about protection, etc, yet the homicide rate here is a lot lower than we think compared to other countries... The top ones were in South America if I recall correctly.

They have the suspects now but only after protests because the cops weren't doing anything and there had been a number of violent gang rapes lately, some resulting in death. its not uncommon for girls/women who have been raped to be encouraged to marry one of the rapists so she doesn't shame her family name. the sick cover ups in the states are fucked but i wouldn't say things are better in india.

Not quite- they have two of the suspects, and only after the massive protests.

The sheriff and a prosecutor could be involved in the cover up and the FBI only shows up to investigates cyber threats against the sheriff?

Man, that is beyond belief. I am suggesting here that the U.S. is so plugged up the ass with worshipping jock thugs, that they operate with absolute impunity while being praised by their families and locals while the "authorities" happily look the other way.

Btw I am not saying that India is better, my point is that before we point fingers at fucked up countries we need to take a very good look at our own respective countries.

true enough. i do not understand what people are thinking letting the jock-o-rama beef patrol have get out of jail free cards. oh you took us to state..whoope de fucking do. who gives that much of a fuck about sports and even if you did, what kind of people value it over justice?

TheSquealer 01-10-2013 02:24 PM

Mythology and poverty are tightly linked. Historically, the more a culture suffers (drought, famine, scarcity of food, harsh climate etc), the more developed and tightly held, their beliefs are. In the US, there is "the bible belt" which is basically a lot of the shittiest, poorest states with the most religion.

Talk about comparing apples to oranges. From the article:

Quote:

But criminologists say crime figures can be affected by many factors, including different criminal justice systems and differences in how crime is reported and measured.

In Britain, an affray is considered a violent crime, while in other countries it will only be logged if a person is physically injured.

There are also degrees of violence. While the UK ranks above South Africa for all violent crime, South Africans suffer more than 20,000 murders each year - compared with Britain's 921 in 2007.
Personally I'd take my chances in the "most violent country", Britain. lol

StickyGreen 01-10-2013 03:01 PM

So what are you going to do about it? Go around the world and kill off everyone who believes in a religion? Or just sit around and complain about it?

There is a reason we have freedom of religion in the United States. People should be allowed to believe in whatever they want, but it's when they hurt someone else because of it that they cross the line and deserve to face consequences. That's why we have laws that make things like assault and murder illegal.

Where exactly are you seeing that?
The US has the highest crime rate in the western world.
But that's obviously because not everyone has a gun yet.

Edit: you came to that conclusion because the US isn't on that list over European countries?

Dirty F 01-10-2013 03:24 PM

According to the linked article it says the U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents.
