Before he came along they'd had 45 prime ministers in 50 years.. he brought stability at least.

And he is a legend, every big head of state convention he's always caught out checking out the ladies asses.

he is pretty amazing!

"Not surprisingly, some of Berlusconi's legal troubles go hand-in-handjob with the girls: He once responded to accusations that he'd paid for sex with an underage Moroccan prostitute named Ruby Heartthrob by publicly stating: "At least I'm not gay." He then turned an already cataclysmic one-night stand into an international incident by falsely telling police that his alleged hooker was the niece of then-President Mubarak and should be released immediately. Jesus Christ, it's like he was trying to combine all the worst possible things into one single, mighty, Voltronian mega-scandal."

Silvio Berlusconi is an internationally renowned figure, but not for his good reputation as an upright and respectable statesman, rather as a notorious man who can be called one of the most corrupt politicians of the world in all terms.

An unflappable and defiant politician who has accumulated a collection of criminal charges for which he hasn't been held accountable so far, Berlusconi is approaching the first stages of punishment for several crimes he committed during his three terms of premiership in Italy.

According to Forbes magazine, he is the 74th richest man in the world with a net worth of $9 billion. Being the third richest man in Italy, Berlusconi owns assets in the fields of television, newspapers, publishing, cinema, finance, banking, insurance and sports. His main business is Mediaset which comprises three national television channels that collectively cover a half of the national television sector.

Italy's largest publishing house, Arnoldo Mondadori Editore also belongs to him. Before entering the world of politics, he managed several successful business projects including Milano 2, a huge residential project of about 10,500 apartments. In 1978 he established his first media group Fininvest and earned up to ?58.3 million through
this enterprise.

But this prosperous and well-off man who is considered to be the longest-serving head of G8 group has irrefutable criminal offenses which have blackened his performance sheet incorrigibly.

this quote is even better.

In 2005, Berlusconi told newspapers that he'd had to "dust off the old playboy skills" to persuade Finnish president Tarja Halonen to change a meeting location. When Finland rather reasonably intimated that claiming to have screwed its premier was a fairly good way to declare war, a Berlusconi minister tried to defuse the situation by saying that "anyone who had seen a picture of Halonen must have been aware that he had been joking."

He has no connection with public TV. From what I understand he owns Mediaset, that are a group of private terrestrial and digital TV stations. I watch Italian footy on his stations via Eutelsat1.

I also love the guy, hes 70 and was caught red handed fucking 18 year olds, he has orgies and crazy parties at his villa in Sardinia. However I wouldn't want him as my president. I read that actor and comedian Beppo Grillo has a good shot to win the Italian general elections

lucas131 02-23-2013 03:19 PM

Movimento 5 Stelle = Beppe Grillo:

Will get 20% to 25%, more than Berlusconi. But neither Berlusconi or Grillo will get 51% to do a government. The others all together (Left + Center parties) if allied can get 51% perhaps, but would mix from catholic capitalists to the communists lead by a gay guy "Vendola", who previously had fight with catholic guys already. Would collapse quick.

So most probable: need next elections in few months - like Greece, needs 2 elections, and like Greece, the country is fucked.

Not exactly but more like pirate party than anything else.
They selected candidates from youtube videos of their blog subscribers, include a funny mix of people from extreme right to extreme left, and some people just nuts.
Everyone is scared of them of course.
