wtf is going on with online porn?

I have created an exclusive website with a majority of the woman vast and different and mainly NEVER BEFORE SEEN. all of them hot in their own way. yet. the site doesnt sell. no members. yeah i can give the url and have a bunch of snooty designers say it looks lame or cheap or week etc but the fact of the matter is when I go to jerk off online I dont look at the make up of the fucking web design so i consider that bullshit. you can have dnkeys and farm animals in the backround if the chick getting fucked looks hot i will watch it.

so i ask...wtf is going on with online porn? has its day passed? people boast on here about traffic but traffic doesnt equal sales and i know i been doing this for 5 fucking years. so how do i sell this shit i invested into?

i have about 20 videos, again., many of which are never before scene pretty skinny girls from my neck of the woods. why are they not selling?

are you really going to say design? cause the promotion is there nad has been there. just no one buys. im thinking about liquidating my videos to someone who obviously knows how to make money cause im not. either that or im going to dvd and box them up to try to sell them in chain stores here in florida.

or i might try to sell each video with its rights and 2257 papers to someone who wants them but it seems like online porn is dead. who the fuck wants to pay for something with their credit card when they can jerk off for free and not be traced??? please explain

Sex.com, Porn.com + tons of "free" tubes sites. What more do normal jerkers need?

Got exclusive amateur porn? Sell it to me and I will convert it for you ;)

fendlestick 03-07-2013 01:33 PM

you might be confusing the perception of value with actual value. Tube sites look shit but they are free and with adblock dont even show ad's. You want people to pay you money instead of giving a page view you better look like you are worth the money you are asking.

Itchy 03-07-2013 01:39 PM

Try selling just the clips http://clips4sale.com/ ;)

fendlestick 03-07-2013 01:50 PM

I feel bad I try to be more constructive. Are you converting 0% of traffic or getting 0 traffic?

When you described your website I thought of uniquesexygirls a site I personally love the content on. Maybe you can copy their model for seo keywords etc, their tour ain't that great and is probably a template from somewhere.

Some stuff every body says:
SEO
Watermarked clips on tube sites
Watermarked galleries on imagefap
Tours
Links
Blog posts, your own blog about your girls
Girl pages with the bio data twitter feeds etc
Social, tumblr, twitter

Get a USP, large labia folded up inside masturbation or somin.

and you can always write a review on my site to get a link and a small bio ;-)

please share url next time, so we can all can contribute.

not all are trolls here.

there are too many free porn pics & movies.
No need to pay money to get a fresh porn today.

backstabthekingpin 03-08-2013 07:08 AM

www.backstabthekingpin.com is the site. i know it needs updates and could use the above suggestions and they are greatly appreciated. and I do agree the site has a real two dimensional look to it but its easy to navigate and i like that about it. the clips are to long which is why we didnt bother with a tour. the price is fair but maybe we should just drop it to $5 or something. there are water marked clips everywhere. in 2011 we had 1.5 million unique hits mostly thanks to the huns. last year we stopped the daily submissions and dropped in hits as to drop our server costs. with as many people visiting we thought paying the $100 a month for the server would pay off but it didnt. so we're working on a skelliton crew server now and barely advertising besides the tube clips listed all over...any suggestions?

Disclaimer: Not an expert on these things.

The site design looks amateurish and when you want people to trust you enough to give their credit card, you need to have a more polished look. A site like this would have worked ten years ago, not today.

fendlestick 03-08-2013 10:19 AM

Some things you can do now that wont hurt.

1. Put some dates of when the content was added.
2. Add preview images, even if they dont enlarge.
3. The trailers buffered slow for me in the uk.

Best option!
Scrape the entire site, install wordpress, go to theme forest and buy a theme, go to graphic river and buy a logo, if you cant set it up pay someone $200 to sort the install plugins and layout and show you how to add stuff, install a paid members area plugin. Seo your pages. Woorank the site and do the suggestions.

Add your episodes to my site and give yourself 5 star reviews and links.

You seriously need to higher a graphic artist. Compilations suck and there is a serous issue that your site looks amateurish and thus I would not give you my credit info. I wouldn't trust you enough to give you my personal information to become an affiliate (either).

You may hate this advice but it is good solid advice. As far as making money in porn, it does still sell but its not a free ride (or easy one at that). Don't expect a free buck with little to no work.

Sure you can get away with a minimalistic design, and there are some valid arguments on what is a "good" design. Some of the most ugly pages I see convert very well. Some have called Slippery Onion ugly for it uses a variable width design but I like it and it is making good money.

Ask yourself this. What value do you add that I can not get at Mofo's, Brazzers, PornPro's, DDF, DDG, etc... What makes you unique and why would I spend my money at your site over another?

Do you have any actual data that says your site design sells better then another site design. Have you done research on the topic? Did you ask people what they think of it? What was the results of your research? Do you have a business plan? Are you meeting its goals? Etc... This is a business treat it as such.

Sorry to jack a post, per say, I have some exclusive amateur stuff that I'm interested in selling. I also have access to a few other girls available for shooting.

As for the original question, I agree with another poster, the amateur feel of the site is good, however the amateur look of the site, would make me a bit weary to provide my credit card info.

i appreciate the feedback. i think no one at a lower level can compete with the above mentioned site names. thus, why sites like mine are not selling. but theres like---50,000 of them worldwide and people do make money. so i think...maybe its the fetish, or the girl, and maybe my site is far to broad (pun intended). Im not sure why you wouldnt make me an affiliate as it holds you to nothing until pay time. scratch scratch.....but uhhh. i wouldnt give any porn site my c/c info and im in the business of getting others to give up theirs! thats why i come to this conclusion...im going to do one of two things: box up my movies 3 @ a time and put them in chain stores and charge $30 a dvd I paid less than ten to make. so all the paranoid married men out there can jerk a couple times to it and then dump the evidence. or I might sell all rights to every video to someone for the right price. but internet PAY PORN is dead. and brazzers, bang bros etc KILLED IT

Clips4Sale is an option

1. Entrepreneurship 101: You'll never be able to compete with the big guys. This is why you need to find either a niche, or a large production budget or even just the knowledge to create awesome content by yourself. If you're just pushing generic, amateur content, at least get some decent lighting and make it look as if it were produced in this decade, with a front end to match.

2. A well designed front end can be invaluable. By the nature of the business, potential customers have no idea what they're actually going to get once they make that payment. If you're site looks like it was created in 2001, people are going to assume you content and ease of use are from the same era and, therefore, spend there money at an established site they can trust that their hard earned money will be well spent.

3. Affiliates are normally required to give their social for tax purposes, and because of such, many won't trust their sensitive information with a site that looks like that.

fonsolo 03-15-2013 07:37 PM

I should also ask about when you said you're making no sales. Are you really just not getting any traffic and you possibly had a skewed idea of what the average conversion rate is? And that you really just haven't gotten enough traffic to actually make a sale yet? Just in case, many paysite webmasters report their conversion rates to be anywhere between 1:1000-1:3000. I know this fucked me up when I first started out because when I researched prior to launch I found several sources claiming conversion rates of 1:200 which must be either outdated or complete BS...

Your Alexa rank is somewhere in the 4mil area so I can't imagine you get much traffic. If you aren't already, you really should be putting as much effort into promotion and SEO as you are into production.

Offer an affiliate/partnership program.

The more people you have working for you, the better.

Just like any business.

FYI
Whenever I go to a website that sells anything, the first thing I look for is the "affiliate/webmaster/partnership" link somewhere on the page, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

We all want to make money.
