What To Do When Client 'Wants To See More' But Has Only Made Initial Payment?

So we have a client that we're working with on some custom programming, followed by some design work, they've paid the initial deposit and we've done the bulk of the programming work.

Problem is, we're at the stage where their next payment, prior to project completion and final payment is due and they are being all like 'we want to see more before we pay'.

So far we've done everything we can up to this point based on what they have asked and paid us initial deposit for, the contract even states that a payment is due as soon as programming is up on their server...

This is just one of the reasons I personally hate working with adult companies.

How would you fine folks on GFY handle this?

Why not run it on your server to show them.

Its currently partially installed on their server so they can 'see' what we have done for them work wise in an environment they can 'play' with :)

are they in breach of contract?

For all intents and purposes, yes.

Programming (albeit incomplete, one small but important aspect is missing till we get payment) is on their server and contract stated payment needed to be made once that happened.

id say not much you can do till contract is completed. that being said, i can see why you're nervous

if i were you, id wanna talk about how nervous i was, gauge next steps on how that conversation goes

Just say , that it is your firm policy,as per the contract, to have payment advanced before final product is released:2 cents:
