MoneyLeak - 100 000 offshore millionaire Exposed.
 

Millions of internal records have leaked from Britain's offshore financial industry, exposing for the first time the identities of thousands of holders of anonymous wealth from around the world, from presidents to plutocrats, the daughter of a notorious dictator and a British millionaire accused of concealing assets from his ex-wife.

The leak of 2m emails and other documents, mainly from the offshore haven of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), has the potential to cause a seismic shock worldwide to the booming offshore trade, with a former chief economist at McKinsey estimating that wealthy individuals may have as much as $32tn (£21tn) stashed in overseas havens.

this is pretty huge news and the amount of detail released is staggering. i somehow doubt anything will change though and that most will continue to get away with it but its about time someone pulled the veil back on those who are forcing the rest of us to pay more taxes. lots of government officials in this data too.

Is there any link or torrent magnet to the full data and names? Or this is seen only by those few journalists and released in pieces as they wishes, as was making wikileaks? In fact, wikileaks uncensored complete cables was released at some point (a leak in wikileaks).

Well politicians probaly hide money more often then ordinary citizens.

If a wealthy person does this, there's probably a 85% chance that it wasn't their own idea. A tax planner, accountant, lawyer, banker, etc suggested to do this, and earned money by setting it up for them.

Will they be prosecuted?

The companies that setup these offshore accounts are the weakest links. They're likely going to have records on who is behind the shell companies as someone had to contact them to set it up. I guess the new thing will be nominee shell corp setter uppers.
