Are all Shared hosts Created Equal?

I have been on shared hosting across 2 servers for years. I can't afford dedicated.

I know you get what you pay for but if I take out shared hosting at site A, B and C are they basically the same.

Main problems I have are database connection problems and general slow loading. It's not like it's daily or even weekly but I do notice sometimes and it annoys me that I put time into getting visitors to my site and they can't navigate due to pages that won't open.

What's the best way to check if a shared server will be decent?

I just check out reviews on WHT and look for any information I can find on a shared webhost before I get an account,

I have all my domains with GoDaddy on Shared hosting there... for 6$/month... He! Works fantastic and fits my little hosting needs... Of course If I'd need bigger, I'd go with BRAD/MOJO Host...

Sign up with Webair, wait a few months and answer your own question.

This goes for any sort of service you might get from them. Virtual or dedicated.

Just use the search function.

I was getting over 13K hits per day or 120K pageviews with my hostgator shared account before it was too much. Just upgraded to dedicated last weekend.

I'm with gotwebhost.com I'm on dedicated but their shared is awesome. Economical and tech support is second to none. I run lots of scripting and so far no problems at all with any of it. I couldn't have afforded to stay in this business during the recent lag without Lloyd and Tanya. Give them a try you won't be sorry they're absolutely awesome. Most of all they're honest and up front and lots of hosting providers I've dealt with are NOT.

Shared hosting = shared problems. I don't use them for my money sites. If you can't afford dedicated, get a VPS at least.

i would have to say no.

stach14 04-12-2013 11:56 PM

If you are ready to get off those shared accounts that sound over sold... I would be happy to discuss your needs and budget on getting a VPS account running.
