The ridiculous amount of Boston threads over the last few days has been an embarrassment to this board. I don't know why they're not just lumped into one super thread. Having to wade through a see of asinine Boston conspiracy theories just to find one or two decent threads really sucks. I'm not saying every thread has to be business related, but come on. Do we really need all the bitcoin and conspiracy threads? It's a bit much.

Maybe 5 percent on this board actually have something to do with adult. Bu that's the owners fault, they can steer it the way they want it to go. I dont know why any adult company would pay to put ads here when there are very few industry people here anymore.

I write in GFY exclusively to sp4m my signature. But I noticed lately (last 2 years but esp last year) I get more user signups than affiliate signups from my GFY signature. This should explain why posts such as "naked pics inside" gets more views than "program X does not pay"... most viewers is no webmasters, but porn surfers. I guess because gfy google rank is good for keywords = adult site names. So guys search for [put camsite name here] + "alternative to" or "free" terms, gets a GFY thread in top results, click in it, then click in my signatures and signup, some pay too. But affiliates... I get many more (and with bigger traffic each) from white hat, black hat or generic india/pakistan/russia "make money - SEO" forums really. You recognise a new affiliate come from GFY because he will ask for 100 different strange promo tools you have not (or never heard of) and customisations before to send one single hit, or to read instructions page (where I wrote replies to most of what I am asked in icq/skype in first place). Then if he ever starts sending traffic, that's 10 hits a day at best. Some of them add your icq/skype before to signup or read anything, and ask: "do you really pay?" - now what I should reply to them :)

everyone needs to just stop responding to those conspiracy media sheep.

Post a business question and they get answered pretty fast. Lots of business is still done here. It usually is done via email in my experience.

I really wish the mods would take things more serious and make this board more about the adult business community. I for one wouldn't buy ad space when all you see here is trolls and surfers. I really don't care for the other adult boards but have been debating weather or not I should just write off gfy and stop coming here all together :(

I made a thread asking about tube vids that has download links for a couple videos, It got zero responses and barley any views. sad thing is If I put in the title free video downloads I'm sure it would have attracted a lot of attention.....

The fact there are no business threads on the front page is not because of the conspiracy threads, the conspiracy threads are there because there are no business threads. If you want business threads there start some up and make them interesting so as they don't drop. :2 cents:

Companies keep buying the adspace so they must be getting something from them.

I still get business from GFY on a regular basis and have used it in the last week or so to find a video editor as well. It is what you make of it... just like anything else. :2 cents:

It is not that you cant fid business here. There are plenty of people who lurk on the board and do not post who are in the industry. I think one of the main issues with business and this board is that nothibg is regulated so people are gettting scammed all day here and scammers dont get banned. Other mainstream boards require verification of service etc. and the Mods verify what service people are selling, which weeds put the scammers. I would buy something from someone on this board but would be extremely careful doing so.

I can appreciate that, but adult is also a much smaller and tighter-knit community. Most people I know in adult won't hire someone unless they can get a referral from someone they already know and trust. My services come with 11 pages of testimonials from well known companies and webmasters. The same is true of many others selling services or products on GFY. I do agree it's a rough place to hire 'unknowns' or to find work as someone 'new' to the industry.

I view GFY as panning for gold and you can still find many valuable nuggets.
