Stop the Marketplace (un)Fainess Act

As usual as a whole we have been led to believe this bill was one thing and it turns out to be quite the other. All of this time I've thought to myself, self, they are going to get this money grab eitherway and there's nothing I can do so just lie down and take it. Well that's when I believed I would only be collecting and remitting my States sales tax. As it turns out this bill is requiring us to collect sales taxes from each and every State we do business in and remit said collections to the perspective States. I don't know about you as a small businessman/women but I have enough trouble trying to figure out the Federal tax code let alone 45+ States various sales tax percentages. This bill is a accounting logistical nightmare for the small internet business owner and everyone should have banners flying on your sites and everything else you can think of alerting peple of this ridiculous bill.

With billions of dollars in lost revenue and state budget problems this bill is going to pass.

If you have to report and remit your sales tax collections to every state and city or county within the state ( some have an additional sales tax ) ...

Quote:

Did you know that there are more than 11,000 tax jurisdictions in the United States? While there are a handful of states that don’t levy a sales tax, and there are a few states that have a state-wide tax, the majority of states have multiple, overlapping tax jurisdictions including county and city levels. Furthermore, there can be even smaller tax districts made for special purposes like regional transit, hospital zones and many, many others.

So, they buy AdWords :1orglaugh)
Why should someone selling interstate in e-commerce pay the burden of collecting, reporting, and remitting. They should be entitled to 20% of the tax as the "rev-share" :1orglaugh

While may very well happen (be enacted), I doubt any appeal will succeed pleading undue burden -- but there should be a federally paid for database to be used -- that cost can recovered from the states -- the database benefits their revenue, doesn't it? There is no such thing as a free lunch and most likely prices will rise to cover the costs.

Guess who pays?
