Who here uses a CDN?
 

Are they worth it? What's pricing like compared to regular bandwidth? Do they charge by the Gb?

The one I used backfired, got rid :2 cents:

I tend to use cloudflare and rackspace for different projects, but quite honestly, I don't see much difference other than paying a bit more (really not much, just a bit). It could be my country, tho, our clients are pretty happy with speed when using a CDN, so guess they have a different experience than me :2 cents:

cloudflare and maxcdn get my vote

I used to use cloudflare but after a couple of painful downtimes I switched to maxcdn. No problems since.

Cloudflare has a free option, but we purchased a plan for $25 and then we pay $5 for each site. Unlimited Bandwidth, but keep in mind we use this only for mainstream sites, I really don't know if you can use it for adult sites.

As for Rackspace, it is more expensive, don't remember how much since I'm not the one in charge of that, but their plans have usage limits and you have to pay a registration fee of $100

I am in the cloud..... no cdn, make your own on subdomains. lol and cloudflare sucks badass...

if you use cloudflare, keep a close eye on your webmaster tool stats and your crawl figures etc. Well worth a CDN for your static stuff and to get that First Page Load time down to under a second

Yeah, cloudflare sucks so much they just helped Spamhaus mitigate the biggest known DDoS in history... That sounds like a real sucky company. :disgust
