Why is America the greatest country in the world?
3 minutes worth watching
|
Awesome. Tapered off towards the end to kinda sappy and fake... but still a great message.

That 3 minutes made me hope it was going to be a good series, unfortunately it became just another boring show

That show sucks.

Never seen the show and its amazing how much people dont like the truth.

Proof or ban should be said, lol

Who says the United States is the best country in the world?
We might be one of the biggest, and a leader in many areas - and one of the most powerful military forces - but that surely does not make us the best over all. |
There are many good people in America, but the ones at the top are some of the worst. I wouldn't dream of going there because of the toxic waste in the water supply, and I wouldn't want to have kids there because of all the poisonous injections they mandate. :2 cents:

that guy can rant!
he did another good 1 in dumb&dumber. |

Just like any developed nation, the USA has many good things going for it, and many bad things.
|
Sadly this is about as "truthful" and "edgy" as it gets on TV.
Dude spends a couple of minutes demolishing the idiotic (and pointless) fantasy that we are 'the best', then proceeds to say something even dumberer... that we were the best in some mythological, fairytale undefined era of the past that never actually existed, outside the delusional minds of nostalgic, reactionary old fools. So, in other words, another banal lecture from someone old to someone young about the "good ol' days". Yawn. |

And please do not have kids, no matter what third world piece of shit place you do live. |
I think Columbia was just voted the hottest women in the world. I think that might make them number one.
|
It's not the greatest because we are now becoming everything we tried to break away from. Fast.
It USE to be because we produced EVERYTHING and had REAL money and people GAVE A FUCK about FREEDOM and had some damned COMMON SENSE and people would NOT stand for having RIGHTS ripped away from them. This use to be one HELL of a country. No matter what anyone thinks. |
I used to think the US was the best country in the world. Not sure now, except for two things: 1. The US government is certainly not the best in the world. 2. I think the US is the best place in the world for someone with $0 but a lot of ambition to become successful. I became a millionaire in 11 years, by owning/driving a yellow taxi in NYC. Bought the medallion in 2012 at $275,000, paid off the 10 year note after working 80 hours a week for 10 years and a medallion just sold for $1,050,000. Now I'm kicking back a little, 5 months into my "beta year" in porn.

I thought that $1M was just about the absolute minimum nowadays.. I read that in some article a few weeks ago, though, so what do I know... but fucking WoW Have you seen what some of those guys pay for vendor space? I know bloomberg, I think it was him, KILLED the street vendors... but what is that one place - the capitol building steps ?? - where a hotdog vendor pays $200,000/month for a HOTDOG STAND space?!! PS: If you made good income AND got your med paid off in 11 years ... that's fucking nice work, there. Good income with a big payout within a decade. Very nice. Can you keep it now and let other assholes work under your plate and make them give you a piece of their action forever? |
Because America is the best of the best! P I R I O D

lol i thought this was a movie

and for all its warts it's still the greatest country in the world, the Internet is mostly an American innovation, Microsoft and Apple are American companies, Facebook as well - the rest of the world still revolves around America, even here in porn land, GFY is American. The founding fathers never said a word that people would or should be equally successful, never promised the poor or the lazy or the stupid anything but freedom and opportunity. From there on make your own way, make whatever you want of yourself. Liberals decided that America owed everybody everything ............ for nothing. |
I really enjoy this show, but I guess I'm not cool enough to be as anti everything as everyone else here.
Go fuck yourself. |

I figured we were way up there for incarcerations per capita and believers in angels per capita. Wonder where we stand for obesity per capita and gun ownership per capita.

i think it's time to let canada lead the free world-
just based on canadian gfy'ers seeming to know what's up with how to do that have at it. |
Good video, very entertaining. However notice that he doesn't say WHO is the best? That's because in spite of all of those things the US is still the "best" country in the world.

It's all relative. Every country is great at some things and sucks at other things. So "the greatest" depends on how you fit into the equation.

You really can't think of any large, successful tech companies from other countries? You've really never heard of Tim Berners-Lee, CERN or Linus Torvalds? Tell me, how many online sales did you make before the WWW, without which 'the internet' would still be an obscure tool of universities and the military? How many websites run on Microsoft Windows, compared to Linux? GFY doesn't. Facebook doesn't. Hell, even your own sites don't. Some 'patriot' you are, EH. :1orglaugh What's the nationality of Jonathan Ive, whose designs brought Apple back from oblivion? What's the nationality of Dieter Rams, whose half-century old designs Ive was inspired by? Where was your iPhone made? Where are the components produced? America? Fuck no. Quote:

There are 13,000 taxis - they rarely issue more medallions, thus it's a limited commodity. Of the 13,000, 60% are owned by companies (fleets) that have anywhere between 2-500 medallions. These taxis can be leased out 24/7 are are usually done so in 12-hour shifts. These medallions go for appx. $1,400,000 and are sold in PAIRS - ya gotta buy 2. These are hardly ever traded - once you have one and manage it right, it's a great ROI. The other 40% are owned by individual drivers - that's the one I have. A couple were sold last month for just over $1,000,000. These are restricted in the sense that the owner physically must do 210 nine-hour shifts per year - basically a 40 hour work week 8 months out of the year. You can lease it out the rest of the time. There's a newer option now where the owner can designate one person for the upcoming calendar year to drive his 210 shifts. I'm going to do that next year - already have the guy, he's been driving for me for 3 years. as to getting into the business, now you have to come up with $200,000 as a down payment, and the balance is paid in a business mortgage over the course of 15-25 years, last I heard. Getting financing is easy - getting the down payment is hard. Guys are now forming LLCs and going in 2-3 per medallion, which the City is allowing. I got in at the right time - luck, timing and hard work. A little bit of all three usually leads to success. |
America isn't the greatest country in the world, never was, and probably never will be.
If looked at over history, Italy, Greece, China, France and Britain must lay claim to be the greatest country in the world, the influence they have all had. In terms of freedom, presently, New Zealand would be the winners, offering the highest level worldwide, with Australia and Canada not far behind. As for the idea that the United States is the envy of the world when it comes to free markets and business? No longer, they lag behind surprise leaders New Zealand, Germany, China, Japan, India, Canada, Britain and even Australia. A Japanese study in the '80s concluded that 54% of the world’s most important inventions were British. And if you take into account things like immigration, culture, music, architecture, literature, aviation, railway, the steam engine and electric motor, chocolate bar, sewage systems, light bulb, vacuum cleaner, tank, communication (radar, computer, television, photography and colour photography, telephone, typewriter, SMS messaging, pencil, and the world-wide-web), sport, the hovercraft and submarine, the fridge, toothbrush, the tin can, the toilet, telescope, the lawnmower, plastic, the soft drink, silicone, and penicillin and medicine. Plus influences on so many other countries and continents, Britain, especially in the 16th century with the Industrial Revolution, had the most major role at shaping the world I would suggest. That's not to mention Viagra. In recent history France's mopping up in Mali and Libya (with Britain) shows them still as a major military influence around the world, something they have been quite good at over two thousand years now. I can't find many excuses for America to lay claim to being the greatest country there is. Half the time, it turns out they were Canadians who should get the credit. |

you continue to support your view by pointing out britain in the 16th century yet neglect to mention anything positive usa has done in 200+ years. and i won't even go into your ridiculous canada conclusion. if you want to compare and contrast, here are some rules http://www.manatee.k12.fl.us/sites/e...et/rcccon1.htm |
CANADA......Fuck Yeah! lol

The downside of Britain is huge, for the first 1,000 years anyone and everyone invaded it and took it over, it started slavery, snobbery, the class system, racism, wars, filled up Australia with its criminals, the rape of countries, it's smugness. That would make a very long list if continued. |
also, the greatest nation status isn't based on anything other than power. superpower to be exact. greatest nation bullshit didn't happen prior to ww2. it happened as a consequence.
