Lego gun traumatises entire bus?

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever read (and yes that includes spacedog and his interaction wiht a bot)

http://www.news.com.au/technology/si...-1226654285172

Quote:

A KINDERGARTEN student in the US has been accused of "traumatising" other students after bringing a coin-sized plastic toy gun on to the school bus.
The young boy was forced to write an apology letter to the bus driver, given a detention and may lose his bus riding privileges over the incident, The Blaze reports.
The bus driver said the student "caused quite a disturbance" and left other children "traumatised", according to the boy's mother.
The mother, Mieke Crane, accused school officials at Old Mill Pond Elementary in Palmer, Massachusetts, of overreacting.
"I could see if it was, you know, an Airsoft gun or some sort of pistol or live bullets or something. This is just a toy," Ms Crane said.
She said her son did not equate the small plastic toy gun with an actual firearm or weapon and did not understand the school's zero tolerance policy on guns.
Did the school overreact? Let us know your thoughts below.

idiots..

This would never have happened if the driver also had a coin-sized plastic gun.

If the kids were all *packing heat*, they could have shot this kid and avoided all the kids being traumatised...

Grapesoda 05-30-2013 06:14 PM

if my kid got traumatized over that I would sue the school for turning my kid into a dumb cunt

Wow. I just read another story on that site:
The Indian woman jailed for 19 years because nobody had $92

A woman has languished in jail for 19 years because no one could afford to pay her bail. Her bail was $5,000 rupees. That's about $A92.

The woman's name is Vijay Kumari. In 1990 she was imprisoned on a murder charge. In 1994, a court granted her bail, but she couldn't afford it. She gave birth to a son in jail. The son was taken away to a children's home just before he turned five. And still the woman languished behind bars.

The child, whose name was Kanhaiya, grew up. Kanhaiya worked night and day in a garment factory on a miniscule wage until finally he earned enough money to cover his mother's bail.

Then just this week, Kanhaiya paid the bail and his mother was released.

Yep, read that earlier too - insane!

I have to laugh at this part though (just the way it's written): "The child, whose name was Kanhaiya, grew up."

Not everyone would have thought to mention unusual background details like that.

Slave indoctrination has been completed on those children and the driver. They should win slaves of the year award. But here's more for ya. It's becoming an epidemic of kids getting slapped around for toy guns.

Another example that zero tolerance means zero common sense. All zero tolerance rules should be upgraded to some tolerance. As it used to be before idiots seized control.

FWIW, my take is this.

The problem is the people who are making these decisions (ie teachers in this case) are so frightened about not doing the *right thing* that they make idiotic decisions because they lack the ability to make decisions on the fly!

These are the types of people who need everything laid out for them otherwise they cannot continue, they are true sheep and without a good shepherd, they make decisions like this...

Tom_PM 05-30-2013 07:58 PM

No doubt about it. Zero tolerance is an incompetent persons easy way out in my opinion. All it takes is the thinnest amount of ability to judge that a tiny toy is not a "gun". The shape of a gun is also not a gun. Here's the clincher.. only guns are guns, lmfao.

No, I meant the "grew up" part. If they hadn't mentioned that I might have started wondering... did he grow up, or did he remain a child forever? Just seemed like a redundant sentence.

And heres an interesting tidbit

I attended grade school at wesley chapel elementary in Decatur GA

In second grade ( I walked to school) I took a .22 rifle to class most every day. when i got to school I unloaded it, put the bullets in my pocket and put it in the coat closet then when school was over I got it left the building and loaded it. Most days my dog was there waiting for me and we would hunt squirrels on the walk home through the woods. If I shot 5 or 6 I would clean them and my mother would cook them for dinner one night that week.

Can you imagine the uproar now if a second grader took a .22 rifle to school...itd be ntional news...in 1965 it was no big deal.

MaDalton 05-31-2013 03:55 AM

something went wrong in this world...

as kids we played cowboys and indians with toy guns and then we grew up and left the guns behind us.

nowadays kids get detention because they have toy guns but once they grow up they buy an AR 15 and threaten everyone that tries to take it away from them
