The reason why IP/cookie targeted advertising does not work.
Every time I buy something cool I have to search for a pic so I can post about it and after
doing the search I then spend the next 2 weeks looking at ads of shit I already bought. :1orglaugh |
haha true fact :D seen nothing but adidas gazelles the past week :D
|
You lie, you don't really buy shit.

I wasn't thinking and just searched to see what Adidas Gazelles looked like. :disgust |

There was a public event recently listed as being right next door to some American Apparel clothing (or some store with a similar name if thats not a place). I didn't know where the clothing place was as I'd never heard of it so I Googled for directions from my cellphone just to get to the event.
Now I know Android ties into my Google account, but for the last month or so, at home, I've been seeing all these banner ads for this clothing store on every site that uses Google Adwords. Kinda spooks me out how they connect everything. Definitely some marketing dollars down the drain. |
i see vps,new relic ads damn that new relic thing.

i think someone thinks i need a new toilet...

I see those ads (and get mailings from Amazon) for a treadmill, television, some calphalon utensils and fan replacement parts I bought months ago. Those ad spots would be much more effective if they would include a simple text link you could click to indicate you purchased the item already.
