Do you stick to a daily routine ??

The time you get up in the morning ?

The time you actually start working ?

A set time for dinner ?

Relax time in the evenings ?

Or do you just wake up each day and say fuck it, let's see what today brings... :upsidedow

(thread obviously more aimed at those still working from home)

CurrentlySober 06-11-2013 10:39 AM

I get up, when I need a poo... Or sometimes, if I REALLY wanna treat myself... (Special Occasion etc) I'll have a poo in bed before I wake up... :thumbsup

Depends, when I have my daughter I have a fairly strict routine. But in any case, I always get up between 6-7 AM.

I wish I could because it drives my poor dog crazy... my hours are set around content models and site updates...

BlackCrayon 06-11-2013 10:52 AM

typically. up in the morning. work till 4-5, make dinner then relax and or do a bit of work if there is something pressing.

Tom_PM 06-11-2013 11:01 AM

I always use the alarm in the morning on weekdays so I can be at the computer and online at the same time daily. This also makes ALL the difference in sleeping well. I also try to get off the computer / away from the desk by a set time daily. Often I come back to work more at night, but that's my leisure time and my call day to day.

Yup pretty much exact same here.

Not using an alarm a while back put me on a slippery slope. Unlike some people, who wake up roughly at certain times regardless, if nobody disturds me, i can sleep right through till the afternoon no problem at all... :1orglaugh:helpme

ottopottomouse 06-11-2013 12:46 PM

Getting up and meals always at the same time, other than that the days vary.

loreen 06-11-2013 12:52 PM

No, I sleep when I'm sleepy and I wake up when I'm not.
And I eat when I'm hungry :)

georgeyw 06-11-2013 02:06 PM

Yes, i'm up around 6 or 7am, drive into office, have some brekky and plonk myself at my desk till about 2 or 3 and then head home. Then I do an hour of exercise and organise dinner / do a little more work.

pornguy 06-11-2013 02:09 PM

Very set and its tiring.

Choopa Phil 06-11-2013 02:17 PM

Personally, if my day is not structured I don't get anywhere near as much accomplished as I'd like to.

Rochard 06-11-2013 02:25 PM

I work from home but I am all about the routine.

I wake up roughly the same time every morning, and follow a routine. Wake up, shave, shower, wake the kid up, make the kid breakfast and lunch, take the kid to school, bike ride or work out, breakfast, which usually brings me to about 9am. Even though I work from home I take lunch the same time every day, one hour. I usually quit between 5pm and 6pm, and follow up with emails and what not after hours.

I also love it when someone or something fucks up my routine!

fuzebox 06-11-2013 02:34 PM

Much more productive when I follow routine. Working out in the mornings helps too.

mineistaken 06-11-2013 02:42 PM

no routine

Socks 06-11-2013 03:09 PM

Wake up at 2-3pm, do whatever until everyone is asleep, then I work until the sun comes up.

bluebook18 06-11-2013 03:10 PM

beerptrol 06-11-2013 03:18 PM

Dankasaur 06-11-2013 03:42 PM

I've been fighting trying to get into a routine... Sometimes I'm more productive in the middle of the night, other times early in the morning... I can't figure out the best way to stay productive and it sucks.

Normally I wake up when my alarm goes off at 8AM, shut it off and go back to sleep until 10:30AM because I didn't want to wake up, then I feel like shit because I over slept and drag ass all morning and don't get anything done, then finally about 3PM I start feeling productive... And I work a bit, get side tracked making food, or something, and finally 11PM go to bed.

In that whole time, I could sit at my computer for 12 straight hours and probably get about 3 hours of legit work done because my routine is so fucked up I can't get productivity for the life of me.

DWB 06-11-2013 03:53 PM

I do what I feel I need to do. The only real routine is that I check my emails before I leave the house to make sure something important is not waiting for me. Other than that, I go with the flow, work when I need to work, play when I want to play, eat when I'm hungry, and sleep when I'm sleepy. No alarms usually, just wake up when I'm finished sleeping.

This is how I prefer to live my life. Very low stress this way.

Sounds like how I used to be 8 years ago...

Darkhorse 06-12-2013 02:06 AM

I was staying up late while everyone was asleep, worked good until I had kids. Now they've all started school I am working during the day, and take a break when they get home, and go back to work till 11'ish that night.

evilmaxx 06-12-2013 02:33 AM

Noo :)

I wake up 10am - 1pm

Manfap 06-12-2013 03:31 AM

Try to.
usually in the home office by 9am. work through till 12 noon, then take 4 hours off.
Then do 4-10pm to match US hours.

adamneve 06-12-2013 03:43 AM

in the morning it's the usual routine but at night depends, with 3 little kids it's hard to keep up with a routine every single day even with really trying..
Relaxing? what's that?

Konda 06-12-2013 04:06 AM

I don't really have a fixed schedule. It's quite hard, sometimes I want to go to bed and some emails come in with stuff that needs to be taken care off.
I do wake up around the same time usually though, but I don't set an alarm.
It takes a very long time for me to 'wake up', I don't get productive until like 2pm. I'm the most productive like 8pm - 2am. Definitely not a morning person.

freecartoonporn 06-12-2013 07:56 AM

Minte 06-12-2013 08:04 AM

You could set your watch by my routine.

candyflip 06-12-2013 08:04 AM

During the hours my kids are awake, yes. When I'm on my own, fuck no.

brassmonkey 06-12-2013 08:19 AM

nope woke up at 4am and ate some granola and drank a beer not normal 4 me

PuffyCash_Megan 06-12-2013 08:35 AM

I generally start around the same time in the morning, but depending on the work load, i will work later some days than others... as for eating, lunch when i'm hungry and wait until i'm finished for the day until dinner... :)

Weekends are completely different though and i'm in bed mega early!

idolbucks 06-12-2013 02:17 PM

Routine is a must. Up no later than 9am. Daily work, 3-4 times a wk/ exercise, healthy clean meals, daily reading, maintain a neat and orderly house.
