cRaZy cover songs

Sometimes cover songs are better than the original, more times not. Other times they are so close to the original that you wonder why they bothered. Then there are the occasions where an artist totally puts their own spin on it or takes it to an entirely different genre.

What are your favorite cRaZy cover songs? Here's one of mine:

Just a straight out great cover. I am a little bias because I love Placebo but even if I didn't, this is a 'wow' song.

That was fun! Reminded me of Bette Midler doing Andrew Sisters:)

Someone has caused me to spend more than a few hours scouring Spotify for cover tunes this past week.

Erroneously credited to the Sex Pistols (was on the soundtrack to their film "The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle), but actually by Tenpole Tudor:

I'd been planning to do this for a bit, wasn't your thread about acoustic versions?

I do agree, but this one is by far my favorite...for sentimental reasons, of course.

SCSI Joe 06-25-2013 06:41 PM

I always get a laugh from this one.

Lots of good ones. The Johnny Cash version of NIN "Hurt" is one of my favorites. :thumbsup

Bruce Springsteen is a huge entertainer, but two of his songs, I felt were done even better as covers:

Because the Night:

Spirits In the Night:

A couple of Iggy Pop covers:

A few great Simon and Garfunkel tunes covered:

Some more cool covers...

This was a great re-mix:

Of course, some covers makes you just go... :helpme

The cowboy junkies version of sweet jane was done so simply and is so intense. Recorded on a four track in a church.
