Omg wow thanks for the heads up

Webmaster Advertising 06-27-2013 11:06 AM

This could have potential for a class action lawsuit for unfair business practices.

Its just a shame we work in the adult industry where nobody really cares and they'll just find another way to exploit free blog services.

The way you worded the title put me in a panic.. lol..

it sounded like you were talking about their search engine.

phew!

JosephFM 06-27-2013 11:14 AM

Everybody likes adult content, but it has to be free. If you try to make money from it you will be labeled as an evil spammer.

Evil Chris 06-27-2013 11:15 AM

It's actually good news if you consider it's one less place free porn can be found.

It wouldn't surprise me if in the not so distant future they decide to remove all porn from their search. Right now when you search some adult terms, the top results go to articles on mainstream websites (vice.com, huffpost etc) and youtube or dailymotion vids.

Count me on board with that.

Although there are also some interesting and informative adult blogs out there that aren't just spammy / marketing pages, so I hope those people save their sites.

that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for us.. people searching for porn would switch to Bing in a heartbeat.

And i agree, Google is making people jump through hoops to find porn now.

signupdamnit 06-27-2013 11:43 AM

It's been posted earlier but it's not a big deal to post it again. I'm sure some people missed it.

That is a little troublesome. On one hand if someone puts up 10,000 links to file lockers (who are making money from premium memberships) that is often okay. But if you're an affiliate then "No way, spammer!" I have the same problem with most of these porn forums. They go crazy over an affiliate posting promo clips or 5 minute chops and speak of how no one should be making any money but with the sites they whitelist they are almost all file lockers making millions. Worse yet many of the forums are owned by the file lockers. Long ago as an affilaite I used to make a lot posting promos to these forums and it wasn't considered spam. People loved it. That changed around 2007.

If Blogger is going to ban for-profit porn links then let's hope they nuke the file locker links and pirate blogs too. Otherwise it's bullshit.

monetization has always been against tumblr tos

Why 06-27-2013 01:34 PM

blogger should kill off all the automated affiliate whore blogs on their service, not just the ones in adult.

i think a lot of those run adsense though, so that might not happen any time soon.

i certainly see that coming now that yahoo has a stake. i know they said they wouldn't, but once they get a real grasp on how much porn is on tumblr, free for the looking at by minors and things will change.
