Bolivia's president plane searched for Snowden

It's shit like this that proves Snowden is what he says he is and likely has more info.

Austria forced the Bolivian presidential plane to land in order for it to be searched. Pres Evo claims it was ordered by the US..

http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE9610C520130703?irpc=932

Guess what? Snowden wasn't on the plane..

That's a pretty significant thing to do.. Could anyone imagine if say air force one was forced to land to be searched?

You just don't do shit like that..

seeandsee 07-03-2013 04:14 AM

lol @ president that can be searched like criminal

AllAboutCams 07-03-2013 04:18 AM

what about the world don't you understand? when in the history of the world have all nations been equal? never. you won't see Air Force One forced to land, nor Putin's jet nor the Chinese president's etc why? because there's a hierarchy of power that runs the world and those at the top of the hierarchy call the shots.

crockett 07-03-2013 04:28 AM

You have to love it..

Italy, France and Portugal all revoked it's flight clearance while it was mid air in order to force them to land in Vienna.

Of course US govt will deny any wrong doing and the others will claim it was a misunderstanding.

Last time I checked diplomats had immunity from search and seizure, which includes their presidential transportation.

All countries are equal in that...

When have you ever heard of a presidential aircraft being forced to land and then searched?

true but this isn't 'slapping people in the face' - there's an American citizen who has committed the most serious crime you can against your own country and he is on the run and other countries are meddling. whether you agree or not with Snowden's actions doesn't change the fact he's broken some serious laws.

if Snowden were to be executed like most of these other countries would do to him then I'd understand some countries giving him shelter or humanitarian grounds but he's not going to face the death penalty.

Meddling? He is requesting political asylum..

Pretty sure the United States signed this ..

Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution."

um.... that's 'persecution' NOT 'prosecution' - he committed a serious crime against his own country. if Snowden had revealed a government plan to gas its own citizens i'd expect other countries to grant him asylum. if you haven't noticed, the majority of the American citizens aren't bent out of shape over this issue, they are buying the government's position that what intelligence gathering is being done is for their own protection.

not one country yet has granted Snowden asylum. this Bolivian character said he was considering it - hence why his plane was searched.

Funny how you got so bent out of shape about me calling you part of the problem, as you make excuses for everything the govt has done in relation to Snowden.

Yet here you are again going out of your way to make excuses for the bad actions the US govt is taking.

this is too funny coming from you. you started this thread based on cursury news reports.

latest news is stating that there were no fly restrictions imposed on the plane and the plane intitially landed in austria due to fuel issues.

Morales' aircraft asked controllers at Vienna airport to land because there was "no clear indication" that the plane had enough fuel to continue on its journey. The official, who demanded anonymity because he was not authorized to go public with the information, said Austrian authorities could not comment on whether the plane was denied overflights by other countries.

However it's still unclear whether European countries did block the plane and, if so, why. French, Spanish and Portuguese officials all said Wednesday the plane was allowed to cross their territory.

me thinks you just like pointing your finger at others you feel are less than you.

Dude can you just go fap to your self in another topic? You clearly don't read anything in between your nonstop dribble.

I made a topic about a presidential aircraft being forced to land and then searched.

The other topic I made was about the fact in the US the media is not doing their job. Instead of looking at what the US govt is doing as wrong they are instead focusing on the witch hunt about Snowden just like they did with Manning.

Now move along and go post some conspiracy theories or hump another's leg.

lolz, listent to this crap bolivian officials are spewing

A senior Bolivian diplomat said the Austrians had acted at the bidding of the United States, which has been trying to get its hands on Snowden since he revealed details of its secret surveillance programs last month.

"We're talking about the president on an official trip after an official summit being kidnapped," Bolivia's ambassador to the United Nations, Sacha Llorenti Soliz, told reporters in Geneva.

an official diplomat going to the media without knowing the details claiming kidnapping and it was called in by the usa.

wow, not smart.

because i suspect they didn't do that. the bolivian dickhead is talking out of his ass. the plane landed due to fuel issues according to reports today. what came as a result of that, i don't know, but the airspace issues appear to be bullshit.

DDid you even read the links I posted? In case you are unaware airplanes just don't fly wherever they like.

They file flight plans and when flying into another country's airspace they have to get advanced permission.

The countries involved revoked the airspace clearance after the plane was in flight. This caused them to make an emergency landing.

dyna mo 07-03-2013 08:03 AM

here's the latest, from 4 hours ago,

Quote:

Bolivian officials said that France, Portugal and Italy blocked the plane from flying over their territories based on unfounded rumors that Snowden was on board.

French government spokeswoman Najat Vallaud-Belkacem said ??France ended up authorizing the flight over its airspace by Mr. Morales? plane.??

She said the plane ??was authorized to fly over French territory?? but wouldn?t explain whether there had been an initial refusal Tuesday night amid the rumors about Snowden?s presence on the plane.

The Portuguese Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday that Portugal had granted permission for the plane to fly through its air space but declined Bolivia?s request for a refueling stop in Lisbon due to unspecified technical reasons.

Italian officials were not available to speak on the subject.

Meanwhile a separate saga played out with Spanish authorities.

Bolivia said Spain agreed to allow the plane to refuel in the Canary Islands ? but only if Bolivian authorities allowed it to be inspected. Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo denied Wednesday that his country demanded an inspection of the Bolivian plane.

Speaking in Berlin, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said authorization was given for the plane to stop and refuel in Spain?s Canary Islands but that it was important Snowden was not aboard. He said the debate was ??a little artificial.??

the news changes, i don't cling to any of it. i am simply trying to look at it dynamically.

dyna mo 07-03-2013 08:12 AM

this is what the bolivian president is calling a kidnapping of a head of state called in by the united states.

Quote:

While the Bolivian presidential plane sat in pre-dawn darkness on the tarmac in Vienna, a surreal scene played out when Spain?s ambassador to Austria visited the airport to meet with Morales, the Bolivian president told reporters Wednesday.

The ambassador, Alberto Carnero, asked Morales if they could board the Bolivian plane together. ??He asked me to go have a coffee inside the plane to see the plane,?? Morales said, adding that he believed the request was made so the plane could be inspected.

If anyone is curious as to what happened, just go look at the fight path. They did a complete u-turn. 1) Pilots refuel before taking off and have an EXACT flight path. They were just coming from Russia so they had plenty of fuel. 2) You don't overshoot an airport and then decide to u-turn and go back to refuel unless you have a malfunction and had to dump fuel. 3) They circled Austria for THREE HOURS while waiting for permission to land. That alone tells you they had plenty of fuel. 4) Last I heard, they are still there.
