The good that has come from the food stamp program is not debatable. Has it gone too far? Would we all like to see some change? Would anyone really want to see it closed?

The states have shifted huge amounts of dollars for the poor from state welfare to SSI. This is not really a Democrat/Republican thing but it has put Social Security in jeopardy. Does anyone want to deal with it?

Who cares if Bush or Obama was worse? Maybe the parties should instead talk about moving forward on some pretty serious stuff. The debt is huge and interest rates are going up. Maybe we look at some of that stuff instead?
