Gamers; if you had to buy your first gaming system today, which would it be?
If, knowing what you now know about gaming systems, you had to start over and buy your first one, which one would you get?
Hell I'll make it a poll for the hell of it. But post why you'd go that route. Myself, I do love video games but have thus far always been strictly a PC gamer, at least for the past 15-20 years now. But I'm seeing what look like some pretty amazing deals on for certain gaming systems, but opinions seem pretty sketchy and varied on most of the big gaming forums. What say you? |
i'd save my money and buy a really good video card. i hate playing console games.
|
|
pc all the way. no question. my last xobx bricked and as i was throwing that box as far down the street as i could, i made a vow to myself to never use console again.

I'm sticking with Playstation.
Although there really isn't much in it between that and X-Box. I will be getting PS4 though. Microsoft can suck my balls... |
i prefer the pc interface/controls for games too.
|
Playstation is better due in majority to the free online play and the Blu Ray player
|
N64 so I can play MarioKart and Goldeneye (Proximity mines, no Oddjobs!)
|
You'll find a lot more XBOX gamers jealous over the PS4 exclusives.
|
Xbox ALL DAY. Best for online gaming period
|
If I were buying a console I would be waiting until holiday season... New ones coming out in a few months. I'd probably go PS4, but I'm not buying a new console. I'm either playing Dota 2 or some old game from when I was a kid for nostalgia factor, so no need for new console.

If you want to play games in your living room, on your couch, on a big tv with the best sound system in the house, console.
If you want to sit in your office playing on your own, PC. |

With PC at least most games that are on one console or another are also available for the PC. |

As for sound I have a pair of 100 Watt JBL's on my PC. Not much better sound needed, much less available. These babies rock. |
Consoles are for little kids. I am a PC gamer; I can play any game on any console and I am never "forced" to upgrade.
I went out and bought an Xbox a few years back because some peeps wanted to get me into COD. Great, bought the high end unit with the hard drive, the wireless remotes, headset, wireless connection, the entire deal. Great. Including the game I dropped some $500 or $600, and what did I get for that? I got crap. COD on xbox was horrible. It was more about kids hanging out in a chat room; Kids would come in and scream obscenties for no reason other than being bored. On the PC side we moderate everything; I have my own server and when kids do this they get kicked and then banned. |
I would wait two months until the new ones come out.
PS4 is the clear front runner at the moment. |
I would get PS4, looks cool and i like to play PES and FIFA with my friends on PS

I dont have time for games, but working with a computer, 12 hours a day Wii would be perfect. Fuck it ... I do not have TV ....
|
I don't consider myself much of a gamer, persay - but until a few years ago I preferred the PC console.
The wife bought herself a wii (for the exercise/workout games)...so I retaliated with buying an Xbox360 with connectix - and loved it. Looks great on the bigscreen Sony downstairs. |
I was exclusively PC years ago, but ever since I've had my PS3 I've really enjoyed the beauty of kicking back on my couch with a wireless controller -- and not being in the same spot I just spent 8 hours working at. Also, I don't have to bombard my computer system with extra software to slow it down more.
I'll admit that FPS shooters are better on the PC, but I play a lot of third person games like Uncharted or God of War, and a thumbstick is less awkward than a mouse when it comes to those type of games. |

holy shit CARRRRRRR |
I'm all for PC, my last console was the N64. If I had to buy one though It be the PS4.
|
n64 or gamecube
|
I don't know how anyone could have anything but a bad taste in their mouth over Microsoft's unveiling of the new Xbox -- then the groveling backpedal. It's a no-brainer which system to go with.

More opinions definitely welcome. |
So, so far it's playstation by a wide margin for consoles,
and PC is leading by a veritable landslide over all. I'm kind of surprised, to be honest. The vibe I get on most big gaming boards out there and while playing some of the multiplayer games is that there are a lot of consolers. More than what this poll's results so far would attest. |
Laptop :)

I went with PC. Most games I like are older anyways and it's been a long time since I've felt like a video game was a good spend of money. Don't really have the time for gaming anymore anyways, but I've generally enjoyed PC games more.
If I HAD to get a console, I'd get a Wii just because I've always really enjoyed Zelda and Metroid games among others. |

I want my Win 95 back so I can play DOS games again.
|
xbox one, better exclusives at launch then ps4 so far
or just get a cheap ps3/xbox 360 since they are still making most of the games for them, even the new ones gta 5 and gran turismo both coming out for current consoles |
