The Broncos are for real!

I don't like them very much but they sure badly beat up the Ravens tonight.

They were real last year too. Right up till their ultra conservative coach blew that playoff game.

One game
I bet Tony Romo can win one as well

When Romo throws 7 TD's in a game let us know.

Ravens were dismantled in the post season-- like an old fighter fumbling for his words, a shell of what once was. The broncos are still building. They beat a completely different team. If they gave this kind of whoopin last year I'd agree.

Bronco nation, and their now-swelling ranks of bandwagon jumpers referring to themselves as 'lifelong fans', are already planning their superbowl parties. Sales of Doritos is up 49% in Colorado right now.

Seriously they looked good. Peyton Manning has never looked better in fact. With that beefed up O line he should be able to do some damage this year.

Mutt 09-05-2013 11:28 PM

They're the best in the AFC - they were without their best two players on defence, Von Miller and Champ Bailey. Peyton is all the way back from his neck surgery. Their offense looks unstoppable.

Ravens will rise again

Ravens looked bad more than Broncos looked good

Thank you for saying it outloud. :thumbsup

Ravens looked terrible and keep in mind they have 9 different starters on defense than last years. Not just talking about Ray Lewis either, talking about Pollard, Krueger, Webb, Ed Reed, etc. Peyton exposed them in the second half and got in sync. Ravens looked terrible, for sure. BTW, I am NOT a Broncos fan.:321GFY

Peyton looked great last night.
I do miss Stokley and Clark on his team, though.

i see "7 $ Payton pizza" in the near future.....

javbucks 09-06-2013 07:06 AM

It was 27 to 49
Not sure why no one posted the scores.

Quite a few blown calls, or missed calls helped the broncos as well...

There were several holding calls missed against broncos offense, but surprisingly none missed against the ravens.

The Welker pass should never have been ruled a completion but it was. And the blown challenge cost the Ravens dearly.

The unnecessary roughness call was a joke... the guy was still in bounds when he got pushed out. Broncos made a very similar move with no call.

Flacco is not and will never be worth 120 million. At the same time, people like to blame the loss on him and him alone in order to talk about how bad they think he is. The truth of the matter though is he's not responsible for the countless dropped passes when the ball was right where it needed to be. He is not responsible for the defense getting abused like they did.

All in all he played a pretty good game; but a weak receiving corps, weak TE's, Jones getting injured by his own damn team mate, Pitta out for the season (probably), and the Boldin trade which I'll never understand; makes for a very difficult time.

Keep in mind too that with the countless problems and mistakes offense, they still scored 27 points.

Oher getting hurt - again by his own team mate - in the 2nd half didn't help things either. That rookie they threw in there had no chance.

All in all, they lost their first game of the season with a shit load of new and mostly younger players, so it's going to take a few games for them to find some kind of flow. I'm not sure how well they'll be though with the WR/TE issues they currently have.

Torrey Smith isn't consistent enough to be called the #1 receiver, and none of the other guys are good enough (so far) to fill the void either.

The key thing here to remember though is this: The Broncos may have won this game, dominated the hell out of this game even, but they lost the one that mattered most against the Ravens so all the hype and trash talk is really quite pointless at this stage. Like someone stated above, this was a very different game against a very different - and quite inexperienced - Ravens team.

Time will tell how things play out over the next few weeks.

I sure as hell hope they shitcan that retarded ass rookie who injured Jones though. You can't find them any fucking dumber than that... Why he was even high-tailing it after the ball to begin with is beyond me, considering his job was to block, not go after and try to get the ball...

Great game to kick off the 2013/1014 season!!!

fitzmulti 09-06-2013 11:44 AM

Helluva start to the season...excitement in the game...a little drama before...an amazing cheerleader upskirt shot...{sorry if you missed it, and I was shocked that they even showed it, LOL!}

What more could you ask for?
Oh yeah, 7 TD passes by Peyton Manning!

96ukssob 09-06-2013 11:47 AM

Considering Baltimore lost over 3/4 of their team from last year, not so bad...

Yea yea yea. And if the Broncos were hitting on all cylinders they would have racked up 70 points. Quit blaming the officials and admit Flacco is the most overpaid QB in the history of the game.

Jay39 09-06-2013 12:08 PM

Great cheerleader up-skirt shot!! PVR'd!!

Manning looked solid but the Broncos are too one dimensional. The running game in Denver is wack!!!

J. Falcon 09-06-2013 12:13 PM

At what part of the game was the upskirt shot?

CDSmith 09-06-2013 01:10 PM

So I got to wondering when the last time an NFL QB threw for seven TD's in a single game. I had to know. What I found was that Manning is the sixth QB in history to throw seven TD passes in a game and the first since Joe Kapp did it in 1969. Manning was 27 of 42 for 462 yards with no picks for a QB rating of 141.1

That's going to be a hard act to follow. (even for Manning)

1. Manning became the first quarterback since the AFL-NFL merger to throw seven touchdowns in a game. The last quarterback to do it was Joe Kapp of the Minnesota Vikings in 1969. Kapp threw those TDs against the Baltimore Colts, which is fitting, giving that team?s dual ties to the Ravens and Peyton himself.

2. The Thursday total was one fewer than Kansas City Chiefs? quarterbacks had in all of 2012.

3. As of Week 1, Manning is on pace to throw 112 touchdowns this season. That would be 10 more than Joe Flacco has in his career.

4. Former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow threw for seven touchdowns in his last 19 games.

5. In one night, Manning tied the record for most career four TD games (23), tied the record for most career five TD games (7), set the record for most career six TD games (3) and tied the record for most career seven TD games (1).

Ravens wasted a bunch of money on a medicore quarterback

I think Flacco did well. It was the receivers who kept dropping the ball.

Drew Brees makes more than Flacco and is currently the highest paid QB in the league. Yes, I know he broke some records in 2011 but outside of that, what has he done that makes him worth more than Flacco or Rodgers?

Rodgers comes in as the 2nd highest paid QB this year. How he makes less than Brees is beyond me.

Flacco is the 3rd highest paid. As I said before, I don't see him being worth 120 million but at the same time, what were the other alternatives? Tebow?

You also have to consider the simple fact that, like it or not, Flacco has been to and won playoff games every year since he's been in the league. His playoff win % is better than the 'great' Peyton Mannings as well. Again, no, I don't think he's worth 120 million; but all this hate on Flacco is extremely funny considering he's not the highest paid QB in the league.

Also, blaming the loss last night on Flacco and Flacco alone is absurd and just plain stupid. Yes, he made some mistakes, but pinning the loss on him and him alone is pure nonsense...
