Swedes say the darndest things. They're so cute.

i gotta give it to the guy, he makes one sold point in that whole response..."as much as we are criticized, when something bad happens in the world, the first question is "what is the United States going to do about it".
|
I like the question and I thought Obama answered it well actually. It's an extremely complicated and often violent & unjust world, there are no easy answers to any of this shit. Anyone claiming is there are is talking out their ass or has an agenda of their own, or usually both.
However, for the record I am of the opinion the US should stay dafuq out of Syria. |
He didn't get his peace prize because he was for peace. He got it because he is half black.
Did Margret Thatcher get one for being a woman? So lame. |

Ruh-Roh!
President Barack Obama: Just like those other guys? "For those who praised Obama for winning a dubious Nobel Peace Prize award shortly after being elected, his actions on Syria will prove if he truly deserved an honor meant to uphold the better side of humanity. If not, it's never a good feeling when the guy you hoped would bring hope and change ends up sounding like all the other guys." Eugene Kane http://media.jrn.com/images/Column+Header+-+Kane.gif Even the lockstep 96% support is starting to fray - there goes the ability to scare the demos into line. Mr. Obama, you did the right thing to seek congressional support. Congress should do the right thing and listen to their constituents. |

Geopolitically I think they have to attack Syria because if they don't then the rebels are going to lose and Assad will regain control of the country, taking out Syria will be like hitting two birds with one stone for Israel because Hezbollah will struggle to get weapons if Syria are no longer supplying them due to regime change. I think so many countries are against getting involved because we're one or two wars away from World War III, there is only so much Russia & China are going to accept before they get fully involved. Syria is just a stepping stone to the war with Iran. |

The US don't give a half a fuck if millions of African children are being murdered and raped.. But if it happens in an area they care about geo-politically, WELL THEN.. FOR THE CHILDREN! |

So if American invaded, regime changed they'd secure Iran's oil and then force the trade of Iranian oil in dollars again which would strengthen the dollar further. I just don't see Russian & China sitting back and letting that happen though, there is too much at stake, especially for China. Quote:

We know it's all about oil, neither Putin nor Obama nor anybody on this board nor anybody else except for Arabs and Jews and some history and religious scholars would care. |

Alfred Nobel (The man who started the Nobel prizes)
Was weapons manufacturer. He invented dynamite, the torpedo, designed the American Civil War ironclad USS Monitor and made a fortune supplying the weapons used in the Crimean war. By the time of his death he had established more than 90 armaments factories. He also killed his brother while studying nitroglycerine. When you know the past of the Nobel prize founder then it becomes pretty easy to see that Obama deserves it. After all Obama is earning it with honor and distinction in just the way Alfred Nobel would have wanted it. |

If you don't want to strike Syria, but you do want to send a message that using chemical weapons will not be tolerated, would you : 1. Say that you will not strike Syria but they did bad things or 2. Bluff the living fucking shit out of them until you get some results. . |
