Clips4Sale Questions

I am in the process of opening a c4s studio and have a few questions that I would appreciate guidance on from those with experience with the site.

1.) Does the "images4sale" section generate much revenue? That is, if you have an hour of a model's time, is it prudent to spend a portion of it shooting stills?

2.) Are HIV tests required for any models involved in penetrative sex? This includes girls in lesbian scenes.

3.) Same question as above, but for non-penetrative sex between two people, such as hand jobs, penetration with toys, ejaculation on body parts, etc.

4.) Is it necessary to establish yourself as a legal business in order to draw revenue from the site from uploaded material?

5.) Does this equation sound right: One 50-minute scene, broken down into 5-minute clips could produce upwards of 50 separate uploads, when factoring in the different formats that might be applied to the clips.

6.) If you have a clip that touches on multiple niches, could it be identified as such and therefore be listed multiple ways. For example: Model does a sexy striptease while smoking, ultimately revealing a hairy bush. Could this gain the tags STRIPTEASE, SMOKING, and HAIRY PUSSY?

7.) Can recorded music be applied to enhance the presentation of a clip?

That's all for now, more coming when I think of them.

I don't think there are many rules when it comes to c4s

2.) Are HIV tests required for any models involved in penetrative sex? This includes girls in lesbian scenes. C4S does not look into stuff like this

3.) Same question as above, but for non-penetrative sex between two people, such as hand jobs, penetration with toys, ejaculation on body parts, etc. same answer

4.) Is it necessary to establish yourself as a legal business in order to draw revenue from the site from uploaded material? no

5.) Does this equation sound right: One 50-minute scene, broken down into 5-minute clips could produce upwards of 50 separate uploads, when factoring in the different formats that might be applied to the clips. yes

6.) If you have a clip that touches on multiple niches, could it be identified as such and therefore be listed multiple ways. For example: Model does a sexy striptease while smoking, ultimately revealing a hairy bush. Could this gain the tags STRIPTEASE, SMOKING, and HAIRY PUSSY? yes

7.) Can recorded music be applied to enhance the presentation of a clip? you can do anything you want but I feel most will not want music

That's all for now, more coming when I think of them.

My answers are after the questions

RandyRandy 09-13-2013 07:26 AM

My additions to 4, 5, 6 and 7.

4. As answered no, but would be a good idea to incorporate, at least eventually.

5. Clips4sale has been cracking down on "spamming" and generally likes you to do 2-3 formats at the most. Also, you need 10 clips to start, and different formats do not count as different clips.

6. Just remember that your clip store will only be in one category - so choose that one wisely - i.e., one that will stay on the front page as long as possible. Also Clips4Sale has been cracking down on using multiple categories WHEN THOSE CATEGORIES are NOT ACCURATE. So use as many as you like - and write in ones that aren't there - but don't miscategorize.

7. Clips4sale won't come after you for unlicensed music or brand names in the clips, but the owners of such could - not that it's likely.

Don't do number 5 - you will get your ass handed to you for that. Make three scenes with starts and ends and their own gratification or purpose, and make just a few formats. I will also be surprised if you make a dollar. Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised.

C4S dead these days?

saratoga120 09-13-2013 07:46 AM

Thanks Everyone

Your replies have been greatly informative. I have a follow-up on the recorded music question.

I would like to use Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" as the music track for models doing things that never appeared in the music video but which might be of interest to c4s patrons. Like completing that striptease, for instance. I might like to make this a running theme in my studio, with multiple models charged with the assignment.

Might this be too exploitive?

I would also like to communicate with a couple of you on topics I'd rather not broadcast publicly, but when went to your individual profiles it appeared that personal correspondence somehow gets aired on the board.

Is there a way to ensure it stays strictly private?

I don't know about "exploitive"...but it 100% would be copyright infringement! LOL!

DirtyDanza 09-13-2013 09:10 AM

and this ladies and gentleman is why the industry is in the shits.... questions like this.... wtf? so this guy in 2013 is coming into an industry with no research himself yet can open a store? we should have tests or something in order to get into the biz... almost like a driver license ....

Your hostility is being noted.

Naughty-Pages 09-13-2013 12:10 PM

1.) no

2.) lmao, i guess that would depend on the laws where you are shooting

3.) see my answer to #2

4.) no, unless where you are located it is required by law

5.) that's possible

6.) They recently had a message about category spamming, you have to pick the category that best represents the majority of the clip, then you can use keywords for other things in the clip (the keyword function does not work yet, but will soon). For example, if a 5 minute video has 4 minutes of smoking and 1 minute of masturbating, you would have to choose smoking as the category and use masturbation as a keyword.

7.) only if you own the rights to it (or royalty free).. but to be honest, most people hate when there is music, and if you offer contact info they will most likely let you know.

For the most part C4S will not care about anything you asked, with the exception of #6

QFT...doesnt even have a clue about simple copyrights.

I dont mind helping someone out but most of his questions are answered right on the page where he signed up for his store.

I don't wanna open onather c4s thread, so i hope it's ok to ask here...

I can't decide what to do :)
I have 30 fetish clips with a model. 50% are femdom and other 50% the opposite -she as a slave).
I need to choose main category, and i have no idea which one will bring more sells.
Both are popular there, but which one will be the best ?
:)

Two separate stores... :winkwink:

RandyRandy 09-13-2013 04:02 PM

+1, especially with those two categories. Like this: http://clips4sale.com/46868

You'd be completely and utterly defenseless to a lawsuit because, by using Van Halen's music without permission in a commercial project, you're violating copyright law.

Instead you could license music
http://www.shockwave-sound.com
http://www.stockmusic.net

Best to avoid possible legal hassles or getting your clip store shut down because it's violating the law.

And as has been mentioned, you should read up about copyright law.

Simple advice for an obvious Newbie seeking info:

!st and formost anything sex, BJ, HJ, penetrate/sex, GG. etc, Always have tests!

I dont care what the rules say or don't say. if there is any possible exchange of bodily fluid, including kissing, make sure there are tests.

Because if some fucked up shit gets passed and it can be proven it happened on your set, you will 100% be fucked!! Depending on what gets passed, you can be held criminally and civilly liable. No joke, straight truth.

These are basic big boy rules with serious consequences if you fail to follow them.

Music in the background or anything that is trademarked, or copy written is a huge no way!

I dont care if C4S allows it or lets you get away with it, its a very bad habit to get into. And if you get called out and sued, it will really suck!

And in the future if your clips are able to get on a DVD or you can get a Broadcast deal, everything with copy written music, logos, etc, wont get distributed.

Thats just a few things from somebody that shoots regularly. Hope it helps.

Please do your due diligence and learn everything you need to learn, before you shoot anything. We don't need you making national news for an HIV outbreak, because you thought that you couldn't get it from a BJ, HJ, whatever.

good luck,

Just Dave

fitzmulti and RandyRandy
Thank you for your answer.

The problem is....i have only 30 clips and she is in a different country, so not possible to shoot more content.
I know larking store, and it works well when many different clips + new updates in the store.
I have 30 BDSM clips + 10 more foot+ masturbation. So, i through to put everything in one store, and this will give me a month of updates.

Or , even with this little clips amount it's better to open 2 new stores?

Knowing that...make one store "all about her"...when you add an individual clip, THAT gives you the option per clip as to what category...so it will just be that she is diverse...sometimes a domme, sometimes submissive, etc...
But the overall store category, isn't as important as the specific clips category.
;-)
Perhaps make the stores category - 18/19 year old - or whatever suits her GENERALLY....because the clips individually can be set as to their own category, as I said.

Thanks. I am aware of the risks. I was hoping to get a sense of the degree to which they are real.

Your strongly worded sentiment has registered.
