Yes! Shoes and clean carpets are over-rated anyways. ;)

You can say that again, mine was given 2 weeks to 2 months to live at Saturday's vet visit, failing kidneys. Never been sadder in my life. 17 years as my best friend.

That sucks man hope he hangs in there a while longer while you come to terms with the loss of your best friend. :(

I'll take my dog at 6 years old over puppy any day. She's way more cool now.

bronco67 09-24-2013 11:32 AM

Mine's six, and he'll always be a puppy to me.

puppies are overrated.. people just tend to lose interest and stop doing things with their dog once they get older which is a major shame. Especially because their brain isn't even fully developed until they are about 2 and a half years..

Mine is getting smarter ever year. He uses the stairs as a tool to get the last bits of treat out of kong toys. He's like a scientist is in the dog world.

My oldest is 11 and she is my baby.

My dog, when I had him, didn't learn English fully until he was at least 2 or 2 1/2, so it was much easier for me to tell him things then.

It definitely is sad when you think of how fast the puppy stage seems to go by -- and wish you could have enjoyed it even more. There's nothing like a new puppy, but a good dog gets better and more lovable the older he gets.
