I personally use EmEditor it's pricey but it's really good editor... On my laptop I use Notepad++ that is freeware and works also quite good.

Buying a 3k$ computer just for text editor is insane...

Nope, but it's definitely PHP-focused. It handles a lot of different languages very well, though. Try the 30-day trial, it's really good shit.

Coda is the only program that I miss from my Mac.. However when I had my Mac there were lots of programs I missed from my PC.
