I have seen a few of these stories about Pacu and I am very dubious - First, of course they are VERY unlikely to go for your balls - They do eat nuts in the wild but unless you have had a very nasty accident your actual balls do not leave the protection of your scrotum...

Secondly, they need a temperature of about 80f to live - They are a 100% tropical species - The last time I checked New Jersey was not tropical.....
