Why do websites stall in the amount of traffic they get

Hi

Lets say you got an adult classifieds website it gets 500 unique hits per day, with regular ads being added per day - why does the traffic not keep on growing?

Wouldn't 500 hits per day be enough for the traffic to gain momentum by itself?

Thanks

B

Share on social networks to gain SE traffic.

The website isn't "sticky" in that it isn't providing enough value to the users. Real people are visiting it once and not coming back or you aren't getting any new users.

You've maxed out your target audience source.
It's like asking, "why doesn't facebook keep growing in the US?" - because there are a finite number of potential users.

Your product must also be "sticky" so that existing users don't abandon your platform. That means making your website extremely useful to your target customer.

Traffic doesn't grow organically the way it did a few years back with free sites like Tubes dominating the SERPs. So you have to just go build another site when you hit that "wall". Maddening but that's the way it is with some sites.

Good luck!!

If it is a badass site, you are correct it should be able to grow... if it goes down, make it better, Continue this process forever and ever.
