Anyone here work at a standing table? Is it comfortable?

Im starting to get worried about sitting low all the time and I'm thinking of getting a standing or a drafting table with a drafting stool for when I want to sit.
Im just wondering if its comfortable to work at for long hours.
anyone do anything like this?

I bought a Terra NextDesk at the end of the year. I'll take some pics when I have my work space lined out. That may be awhile at the rate things are going.

When I worked at the phone company as a telephone operator we had something similar... They were great really.

Rent a dvd of saving private ryan and stand there without moving through the whole fucking movie. After you attempt to walk and fall directly on your face you can take a couple minutes while waiting for circulation to return to think about how fucking awesome this would be to do every day.

Standing desks are great. I like to think that having a standing desk is a form of exercising:)

Yes I do, I love it. However I do get tired so I switch back and forth. It's best to get a desk that is convertible so you don't have to move all your stuff around. Research shows that both sitting too long or standing to long is bad - a mix of both is best.

The convertible desks are expensive though - but you can get something like this that works pretty well and see if you like the height first: amazon.com/Furinno-Adjustable-Laptop-Desk-Multifuctional/dp/B004QXIFCC/

Don't get those desks that manually crank they don't work well, either something like what I posted above or invest in a hydraulic one - I like geekdesk.com.

Yup, adjustable is essential. When I'm using my adjustable station I usually go 2-3 hours stand, 2-3 sit. Standing in one place for hours is waaaay worse than walking around for hours, you gotta mix it up.

I have a standing desk and I love it. During the winter though my knees ache so I use my stool more often. even then i find i have better posture in it then a low desk and chair.

Have you tried a mat that cashiers or factory workers use to stand on?

It should make a difference :2 cents:
