RIP Comedian David Brenner
If you're a 70's kid or older this guy was great, pretty much the forerunner of Jerry Seinfeld. He was 78 which most people are surprised at because he seemed younger - I remember he was on the Tonight Show once and told Johnny Carson his brother was in the audience so Johnny had the cameraman point him out, the brother looked 80, I thought David Brenner was maybe 40 at the time and couldnt figure out how he had a brother that old.
Very funny guy and no swearing, no anger, just a funny observant look at the modern human condition. http://news.yahoo.com/comedian-david...222814425.html |

who??????

Before the Vegas fight between Sugar Ray Leonard and Marvin Hagler I was in a slow moving line for the porta-johns waiting to take a piss. Brenner was waiting in line behind me and did a 10 minute non-stop comedic bitch while we waited. Funny funny man.

He used to do a great bit about being tall. Somebody making fun of his height as a kid and asking 'hey David, how's the weather up there?' So he spit in their face and told them it's raining....
RIP |
I saw that and was sad. I remember seeing him as a kid. I had forgotten about him.
|
He was funny... I remember watching Him on the Tonight Show when I was a kid and Johnny Carson was the host...

I remember the early days of HBO, his stand up specials (and those of a lot of other late late 70s/early 80s comedians) were my stay up late on a Saturday night staple as a kid...those were the days before HBO ran 24 hours a day. The broadcasts would end at about midnight, but on weekends, they ended at abut 2am and usually closed each of tose nights out with David Brenner, Phyllis Diller, Buddy Hacket and of course my favorite George Carlin

I remember him. RIP.

That's sad news.RIP David brenner
